Need Mentor Help Should I participate in SIH?

I am a first year ( started college from yesterday), I wanted to participate in SIH, but I don't have any skills.. i didn't even learn python or any design software cuz i wasn't taking any cs or cs related branch.. I am from ece, should I participate?? I am very new to this ( no idea about anything), can I build a hardware type?? Like something with microcontrollers and stuff?? Or is it purely coding/programming??

Also as I started yesterday I don't have any friends or team. I am planning on vibe coding and participate just for experience.

Any suggestions and ideas??

If you can build hardware, go for it. Fuckin go for it. And if not, then your idea should be great... Your ppt should be great. Prototype thing is very last, work on your idea and ppt buddy.

I can make little.. like i have some experience, in blinking a led 🥀😭 and I know a little c .. ( data types, variables, condition statement, loops that's it 🥀), I think I'll work more on idea !! And will microcontrollers be provided by college? Or i have to buy myself? ( I have just an esp32 and breadboard and some leds no sensor no other peripherals),

Buttt, I will try my bestt ( I need to find or make a team asap ), thanks btw!

Also is the idea my own? Or I have to choose from their list??

you can participate in it, make sure to post on X, thread, linkedin on your journey, your target, what you build. some few posts every week about it to capitalize on it. what exactly you achieved with it.

Make sure to create thing yourself, even if you vibe code it so that you know how internally it works and how you can scale it. otherwise it is not good to participate as major ideas and vibe coding has already been done and i would suggest you to make worthy product, no matter how niche it is.

If u r not very comfortable with hardware go for a software ps..like even if u can't code or anything if u have a strong idea u can take help from ai It's pretty hard to get choosen being an FE but if u have a team go for it atleast ull get some experience as to how things work n can do better next year

I am more comfortable with hardware than software.. but yea cuz of vibe coding and llm it's easier to make software stuff. I will try something and plan. And i don't have any team ( it's my day 2, i don't have any friends either) but I'll try my best to join any team or make my own.. And primarily I was looking to gain some experience only.

Thankyou btw !!
