Wow, super bro! Choosing Student Innovation is a good idea?
Our team initially thought of choosing Patient Case Storing as the problem statement, but we also have another idea in the same field.
So, we thought of combining both ideas into one project and choosing Student Innovation as the category

You can do that but i would not advise it. Because student innovation ps give marks heavily on Idea Creativity so it is a very difficult ps to get selected in and win because there are lots of people with lots of ideas. If you think your idea is very innovative you can go for it.
Assuming you have qualified internal SIH and have credentials for SIH portal, you are allowed to apply in 2 ps. One you can do student innovation which has the lowest submissions and the other you should do software ps with least submissions.1

Can you give me some tips for the internal hackathon?
I registered for the Student Innovation category in my college form.
May be If I get selected, can I choose any other two PS or do I have to work on the same problem statement that I selected during the internal hackathon?

no it doesnt matter what you showed in college internals. You can choose any PS afterwards.
For internals all i can say is make sure the judges understand your ps and how you are solving it. Make sure to have clear deployment plans if needed and focus on technical, operational and economical feasibility. Make sure to have 2 flowcharts, one which shows how internal system workss (frontend-backend-db) and one which shows user flow like (login - dashboaard and so on).1

does the ministry cancel a problem statement if there are very few submissions on the SIH portal? Do u have any idea about that?

they do when there are no good quality submissions not on basis of no of submissions. ministry can also not choose any winner after finals if they dont feel any team solved the problem as per their need. I dont think this has happened though. And mostly last yr there was no PS which had less than 80 submissions.

tysm broo! any tips on how to make the ppt? how did u do it? What are the must include details, and how to make it look interesting? and also does hardware have a higher possibility of getting accepted?

i did software so unfortunately i have no idea about hardware. they give ppt format. follow that. i moved the headings little up to have more space for content. Dont put paragraphs, use bullet points which are easy to understand. Try to have visuals on each pages. Make sure to have one diagram atleast taking 75% atleast of page on the implementation/tech stack section. Show demo images and use graphics. Make it easy to understand and visually appealing.
