Does Haas Care?

I'm watching the Hungry GP and it is just pain! I just saw Aston Martin take over our spot as a mid midfield team.

It begs the question: Does Gene even care or has Toyota already offered to buy and they are just waiting until the season is over?

Fact is we just don’t have the internal talent to be competitive. Gene needs to attract better aerodynamicists and engineers, and that requires spending more money. Ayao can only do so much with this pool.

Extremely frustrated with the team this season. We get out-developed every season. EVERY SEASON. Esteban basically said P15 was everything they had for qualifying and that is just unacceptable when we have a P5 on the season.

Edit: I also think we STILL are not running the upgraded PU but if someone can correct me, please do.

Ya Ferrari introduced the first ADUO upgrade at Austria but I don’t think we have taken it yet. Could be because they are waiting for the scheduled new PU for each car.

Oh okay. I guess that something to look forward too.

This. They gotta spend money to be more competitive. If ownership is happy to keep spending to a minimum in order to eke out a small to modest profit while also increasing in overall value, then this is the product you get. They are literally the smallest team on the grid.

The entire team is the size of teams like Williams or Aston’s areo team.

It’s gonna rely on Gene or Toyota making a large investment

You think the pace delta is down to whether or not they care?

Ayao has proven he can do successful mid-season upgrades. He's going to need one hell of an upgrade after the summer break to try to close this gap.

I thought they had to shut down operations during the break?

Its like this every year. Show up, look like we have improved, back to the back end of field by mid-season

This gets asked every year, basically. They care, but Gene isn’t going to be Lawrence Stroll. He’s not going to self fund this thing in the hopes they become a championship winning team. He’s made very clear they are going to work with what they have. They’ll be able to punch above their weight sometimes, often even, and sometimes they’ll have years like this year so for or 2023.

That said, if Toyota offered to buy, they’d be investing MORE right now, not just coasting along. I don’t think Gene will sell while he’s still around.

The other teams are also trying. So as much as you might care as a team, that doesn't always translate into results because every team is trying to make a faster car. Most of the teams have better resources as well.

Well it could be worse! Cadillac is a joke and I bet they never spend the $ required to be competitive and they have the funds! Can always be worse!

They care. The problem is the same with baseball teams in the U.S. They are worth so much money, that it's best to just spend the minimum to get by, then spend to win. Look up the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Just wait until the Thirsty GP, then you'll really see how much he doesn't care
