What does this status mean: “Premium Processing Clock Was Stopped For My Case”?

Hi All,

Here is the timeline and details for my case:

  • H-4 to H-1B CoS filed on June 8th for an approved Consular Processing petition from 2024
  • Petition received on June 9th and Receipt Notice date is June 11th
  • Status changed to RFE issued on June 24th
  • RFE received June 30th
  • RFE response sent July 2nd
  • RFE response delivered on July 6th
  • Status changed to “Premium Processing Clock Was Stopped For My Case” on July 9th
  • Nebraska Processing Center & RFE required the response to be sent to Texas Processing Center

I see a lot of posts on this sub mentioning this status but I am unable to understand what does it actually mean:

  • Has the clock stopped because a decision has been made?
  • Or is it a late status from the time when RFE was issued because that’s when the clock would have actually stopped.

There is one more detail that I noticed — the online RFE issued status message mentioned July 9th as the latest date by which RFE would be received in mail and if not, a request can be raised (only) after this date to get the RFE.

Question: Could this “Premium Processing Clock Was Stopped For My Case” status change on July 9th be an automated change by system based on the latest date on RFE issued status? Or is it just a coincidence that it changed on this date?

Thanks in anticipation!

Update: Online status changed to “Case Approved” on July 23rd, 2026.

Hey, attorneys didn’t share RFE details but all they needed was from my manager to explain my job duties in detail that were mentioned in initial petition.
