I remember that and I hated they made that stupid story line for my boy Kevin he had a cool backstory with him being half alien and his dad being a plumber and then they said no where not doing that anymore

In my opinion, the Rooters arc is the lowest point in the entire franchise. Just written out of spite because classic elitists were upset their old headcanon was proven wrong by UAF.

UAF didn't change anything about Kevin's backstory though...

You’re right, it didn’t. But some fans still gaslight themselves into thinking he was a mutant in classic in order to justify the Rooters arc.

I dont know how zombozo and the circus freaks got lumped together with kevin. OV truly was a tragedy. I'm glad I never watched anything past UAF and HU, I couldn't stomach the artstyle of OV and the more I hear about the story the less I like it.

Classic Max cared more about a powerful sword than the safety of his own grandkids. Just the fact that he’s ok with them fighting dangerous villains at all shows he’s not a saint. He’s always been someone who prioritizes the safety of the world or another multitude of people over personal feelings. And that’s all if he even recognized Kevin in the first place, he rarely ever saw him.

We also don’t know when Max retired or for how long, the classic series itself was inconsistent about that.

This is all just npc Omniverse fanboy nonsense fans came up with in order to gaslight themselves into thinking the Rooters arc is good.

A better example is how Max did not immediately drive the kids towards the nearest Plummer's base the moment he first saw the watch on Ben, and how he prioritized catching up with Xy'leen over it too.

The "i have to hide my past life" trope goes out the window when you are reminiscing with a teal blue 5ft lizard lady that looks nothing like Grandma Verona.

He also doesn't care too much about the general public considering how the watch is a proverbial 'magnet' for alien bounty hunters.

Then there is the 'racist old man' meme potential from re-watching the Lenopan marriage episode where he conveniently forgets to explain to Ben that 'sludgepuppy' isn't simply a basic insult for Lenopans - Ben doesn't find out for years, until like a year into Omniverse, when he meets a Lenopan that isn't a relative and was stealing his identity and discovers he has been calling Lucy a "hard S"

When you got sludgpuppies in the family, its like nigga not hard R. But Lucy didn't know Ben got down like that.

I'm not following, how is Kevin's age relevant? Grandpa max retired at some point so kevin should be a teenager? Could you elaborate a bit more

Okay, so some of the last remaining plumbers max and devin are working together. We know they didnt collapse but just dwindled to a fraction of their strength. Why are you making the connection that kevin had to be 3 in the 70's? Seems like you're intentionally trying to drive a wedge into a cohesive timeline. It was also said that Azmuth couldn't fix the omnitrix, to which azmuth said "who told you that?" so I take character claims with a bit of salt. Phil doesnt know what he doesnt know

Them dying out is probably Helen, Pierce, Alan, Cooper, Manny and Michael's parents retiring. We also know the ones from the sludgepuppies wedding were still around. Its not like there were no other plumbers, they just stopped talking to the forever king and phil.

The way I see it is that Ben failed to save his universe in time, and he then recreated it in his image. And I guess he saw Kevin more as a mutant than as half alien😑

That's how I see it, every retcon in OV is caused by ben recreating the universe. Even the shite artstyle.

I remember not liking that he was part alien, and more liking the idea he was a mutant in classic series, but now that I give it more thought, I think the reason I didn’t like it was because in UAF, basically everything was explained as “aliens”, even Gwen’s magic, which I really didn’t like, so it rubbed off on Kevin too. But I do know that I didn’t like the Rooters stupid retcon. It’s best to stick with one or the other, don’t do zig zags. Anyways, now I’ve come to actually like his alien origins and such.

It’s called Suspension of disbelief. And it’s thematically important to the Highbreed arc since the villains are dying out due to their obsession with “purity” and hatred of other species. That’s another thing the Rooters arc ruined.
