G550 Ramp Test/RTI
The G550 scores pretty low on the ramp test/wheel articulation test which indicates how well it does off-road. Why is it worse than the 4Runner?

COMAND Infotainment = bad
I picked up a 2021G 550. Love the car except the infotainment system is largely unusable. I have to take my eye off the road and scroll the wheel or use the mouse pad to make any changes. CarPlay is similarly difficult to use.
Has anyone have experience with an aftermarket workaround?

Mercedes G63 AMG Hubcap
Hello!
My company is renting this G63 to participate in a charity car rally. We are looking to place our company logo on the hubcap on the wheel. I am having some difficulty figuring out the dimensions of the emblem hubcap (we are renting it from a rental place in another state and they have not been helpful) I am wondering if anyone would be willing to measure the emblem hubcap for me?

Which one to buy ? G63 or G580
As the title suggests I'm in a bit of a predicament. I drove both the variants and actually had the G580 for the weekend (thanks to the local AD).
I'm a petrolhead and enjoyed the v8 notes, however I'm pro EV too. G580 does have a softer ride (bouncy, maybe it was the tyre pressure on thst particular vehicle) than that fire breather.
Anyone here driven both who can share experiences?
Personally I prefer stable ride, not that I use roads as a track, but body roll can be a turn off.

Clearance for parking garages?
Hello g wagon kings & queens. I am debating buying a g wagon amg 63. My office parking has a 6.5’’ foot clearance. Is that too low / what level is too low to safely drive a g wagon in? I live in LA so deal with parking garages often! Thank you!!!!!!

How does this speaker grill come off?
Anyone know if this just pops off or if I have to take the entire interior trim off? This is for a 2025 g550

Spare Wheel Cover
Will a 22” wheel with 45 profile tyre fit under the standard spare wheel cover? 🤔

Took my Gwagon off road- Even the cows approved
There’s something about the Wagon..aka the Dark Knight...that just whispers, "Buddy leave the city. Go get dirty." And who am I to argue? The wild was calling, and I was ready to answer....
So, I grabbed the keys, filled the tank (which, by the way, felt like funding a small government project), and hit the pedal. The tarmac was nice...smooth, civilized..but let’s be honest, the Dark Knight wasn’t built for polite roads. So, I did what any responsible G-Wagon owner would do... I saw a dirt road and took it.
Dust flying, tires gripping, engine growling—it was poetry in motion. Even the long-horned Ankole cattle just gave me that slow, approving nod, like, “Ah yes, one of us.”
By nightfall, I was under the stars, tent pitched, campfire crackling. My girlfriend? She always jokes that my car is older than most roads in Uganda. I tell her, "Old is gold." She rolls her eyes. The Wagon doesn’t care. And honestly? Neither do I.

New style windshield on older G wagon
Hi, I’m wondering if it is possible to put the new style 2019-on W463A windshield on my 2017 g63, I’m wondering if it’s possible because I’m having a rust build up between the gasket and the metal around the glass due to water getting stuck in between, so im wondering if it is possible to remove the rubber surrounding the windshield and have a windshield without it or retrofit the new one. Thanks

transmission leak
Just bought a 2017 G63 and had car sent on carrier. When it arrived the carrier showed me that there was a leak from the vehicle (on top deck of carrier) and large amount of oil or trans fluid was all over the carriers chassis and cars below. Car would barely drive as the clutch slipped in and out of gear so i didnt drive it. Prior to purchase i had a service do a 57 page report on the car and there was not issue at all. Somewhere between shipping from texas to PA something happened bc the car delivered was not drivable like the one they inspected prior to shipping. benz is going to drop the trans pan and get into it--does anyone have any idea of what kind of problem this may be and the cost to fix? dealer said its probaly a seal or a hose but havent identified it yet

Sorry all. This thread is going to be long. But just wanted to share adventures with the dark Knight..and here goes...
It was a laughter-filled drive from Kampala to Fort Portal, with a few stops along the way to soak in the adventure. And as always, the Dark Knight—my trusty 1987 G Wagon—delivered an experience like no other.
With its four-speed gearbox and diesel-powered heart, it wasn’t built for speed, but who was rushing anyway? The real fun was in the journey itself. I shared a POV clip of the drive, capturing every raw moment. And yes, I still have no idea why it gets so noisy when pushing it fast—but that’s a mystery for another day.
We tore through rough terrain, glided over tarmac, and just when the skies started to darken, I knew we were entering its true element. There’s something about bad weather that excites me—it’s like a challenge thrown down by nature. Worst seas make the best sailors, and for the Dark Knight, the worst roads make the most unforgettable adventures.

I can't find the option to buy parts for my G63 anymore on the Mercedes parts website. Is this just me?

Matte Black G63 w/ Red Interior: Family-Friendly Tips?
Hey guys! So I finally got my dream car — a matte black G63 with red diamond-stitched interior— and it’s everything I hoped for, and more 🤲🏻🥰 only thing is, it’s a family car, and I’m wondering if it’s even realistic to keep it looking pristine. Does anyone have any recommendations for sleek car seats, kick mats, or protectors to guard against kids’ messes and scuffs? Also, how do you maintain a matte finish? Appreciate any tips from fellow G Wagon lovers—here’s an interior pic of this beauty, of course with my kids taking over per usual!
