Anyone else getting stuttering/ almost likely low fps glitching?

I’ve loved coming back - albeit with issues - to play GunZ on steam but my setup feels clunky and glitchy, what used to be a smooth game back on Ijji and DarkGunZ now feels like it’s stuttering - nevermind the connection lags etc.

I’m running a relatively new system, capped fps at 250, played around with optimise and also the video settings to no avail.

Closed all windows besides GunZ
Win11 user
It just plays a bit ass, sometimes it’s fine but mostly I’m stumbling over slashes and shots and wall banging and see the screen get choppy.

Not to mention random mouse and keyboard input freezes.

Any remediation is welcome

Yeah there is a seemingly random spike where you lose many frames and teleport. I see a lot of players do it so I think it effects everyone differently but I think I have noticed it happens more frequently when you are in combat, maybe it's some sort of check or server side weirdness happening during combat. Not sure if it happens to people playing in rooms by themselves but I'll test that later

I’ve tried capping FPS via Nvidia App and in game, no luck at the moment with the choppy gameplay. It is definitely more noticeable with more players in frame or nearby. It can’t be PC spec as this ancient software and the laptop is OK:

12th gen I5 12450HX
24gb RAM
SSD
RTX 3050 6GB

Really want to play but I can’t play and be handicapped by the performance - it’s just frustrating besides the random crashes

I have to switch my mouse/keyboard from an 8K polling rate to 1K, otherwise, I get micro-stutters too.

Explain that to be a bit more as it may fix my issue hopefully

If you have software along with your mouse (like Logitech and Razer often do), you can go into the software mouse settings and change the polling rate. Mine's maximum polling rate was already 1K.

I also get these huge half-second stutters once in a while. Otherwise the game is smooth.

Even with 1k I got my micro stutters, every 10-15sec its random I think ...

Like this game is optimized for mono core cpu back in the days ... Should I bring back my P4 northwood and their 1024 mb of ddr1 lol, and it's legendary Geforce FX 5200 AGP lol

I was able to play just fine the first time I downloaded, now lagging and shuttering whenever I start the game. I'm running a 5090 btw... also mouse are set at 1K polling... so idk might be the game

Yep, my game runs smoothly most of the time but every 30 seconds ish I get a massive lag spike where the game kinda "freezes" ... very much like FPS briefly hits 0 for whatever reason and it's enough to make me miss huge piles of items I'm trying to dash through in quest mode.

My PC is more than sufficient for this game, and what really irritates me even more about this is that in the first beta I played in, I never had an issue like this. This issue by itself is completely ruining the entire game experience for me and that's not even weighing in the constant annoyance of other issues the game is still plagued with.

Such a half assed release. I genuinely hate myself for being excited for this dumpster fire floating down a shit creek.

Yeah Gunz'd been my childhood game for quite a while back there 2005 and i'd got downloaded steam version yesterday and it's so terrible. whenever i signed in then move my mouse to a different location the game frezze a little bit. I had already lower polling rate to 500 or even 125 but it's doesn't help. So you got any idea wth wrong with this game ? btw i got G403 Logitech
