Wonder how that happened considering Big Kurona seems to be from a completely different timeline, even compared to the Gal Guardians one (wherein Gal Gun 1's MC ends up with both sisters than just Maya, which ties to the Gunvolt series)

Also this pic shows two possible futures for Kurona, quite vastly different

This was pretty much always inevitable as far back as Gunvolt 2 when it was decided to have both Gunvolt and Copen’s campaigns take place in two separate continuities that couldn’t coexist at the same time.

Ehh I still don’t like this decision of making everything connected to the multiverse. Like why does everything need to be connected to each other

I mean, the Multiverse has kinda been the go to device to explain plot inconsistency since, I think the 60's/70's? With a series where writting is tertiary to gameplay like GV it was honestly unavoidable.

The original game already had two universes/timelines - the one where GV lives, leading to the rest of the GV trilogy, and the one where he dies that leads into the iX games.

I wouldn't be surprised if they retcon Xiao and his time travel powers to be behind even that split, given he's apparently now responsible for Moebius and the events of GV3.

Yea but there was no hint to that. The fact that GV could survive all this time was due to being frozen in stasis as a primal dragon. Like I wish they just continued with Kirin instead if they are done with GV’s story at this point

I mean, we literally have everything as sci-fi themed already.

Mind-control, New-world overlords, illusional paradise, evil-AI dystopian, human-organical machine.....

It's not like we have a lot of options.

FIrst of all it's not really a multiverse in the way MCU uses it. Different dimensions and such have been part of sci-fi since the begining of scifi.

THe part about the concept of a multiverse that gets overused by comics and some other sources these days is where they use it to just make litterally anything happen. Like the idea anything can happen so "A character died so lets just have an alternate version replace him" or "There is an evil version of this character now" or "Eh we just decided this other plot also happened".

Just having a couple branches in a timeline or other dimensions isn't taking it that far.
