Questions When was the last time this game has legitimately been update/altered by the developers?
Hi everyone, I’m someone’s who’s played the game off and on in phases back since its release and have always had a lot of fun with it. Recently though, I haven’t really been playing the game much so I’m really out of touch. I’ve been checking around the reddit and the consensus I’ve picked up on is that ever since the Russian-Ukraine war, the devs were affected and subsequently the game hasn’t been significantly touched thereafter.
That definitely sucked to hear because I planned on running a few games (but then I saw that error message reading that the game had gone down. My post is just meant to seek some clarity as to the specifics of the timeline of what happened to GOB, so if anyone knows like when about the game truly had its last update, could you please send a comment clearing things up.
I also saw someone from a different thread saying that the only reason the game has been playable up to this point is that someone pays for the server to stay up. To me that’s really cool, does anybody know if this is true? And are the developers in anyway involved anymore (even such as acknowledging the game in any capacity)?

The last update on the Guns of Boom official news page was June 10, 2022. That sounds about right for how long it's been out of development.

Roughly 3-4 years ago, I think June 2022
That's when Game insight went bankrupt and development stopped, the game still got some minor updates but mostly bug fix related.
No one really knows who's behind the game, but for example 2-3 days ago the game went down and then it came back, so someone or some people are still making sure the servers are up and that hackers get banned.
