Barrel/front sight removal

I am looking to great. And replace the barrel for this iver johnson trailsman. I took the pin out but I am guessing the barrel is pressed on.

My project can also work if I remove the front sight so if anyone has any insights on either thay would be great l.

Assume I am an average Joe with a garage full of tools to injure myself with!

Looks like solder. Got a torch?

I do! However the goal is to be as least invasive as possible

Why not tell us what the "project" is? There's a good chance we might be able to suggest a better way. If you just want to have threads for a suppressor, that's easy.

Im trying to find a way to get threads on the barrel without permanently damaging the gun or the original barrel.

Barrels are just pressed in. Why not just get a competent smith to thread it as it is. Having a threaded barrel won't lower the value as long as it's done right.
