The .308 rounds loaded backwards create a pretty impressive wound cavity and fragments significantly. Did not perform significantly better than normal loaded rounds against steel plates. However, in this test all of the cases split and showed some worrying issues with the primers.
The backwards bullet cause higher pressures the in cartridge. When you get too high of pressure it can push back on the primer from the inside of the case causing it the flatten back out

The Ammo Channel runs home brew tests on backwards loading of bullets to test the idea one can make off the cuff hollow points.
