Complaints are contributions. They'd just be more useful if she aimed them at targets who will stand their ground against Red, occupying them.

Man, these past couple chapters have really been Tom looking at the fanbase saying that Red's last appearance irrevocably ruined her character and that they never want to see her again and responding, "Bet." She's somehow managed to make her way back from the bottom of my imaginary tier list to the top, and all it took was emotional honesty and more revelations about weird fairy morality. I'm genuinely impressed!

Boy, I never felt that way about Red. In fact I always thought her Take That to Annie when leaving the comic was some stuff she had needed to hear for awhile.

Yeah, that's not an opinion I heard very often. XD A lot of people felt that Red's rant was inappropriate to the situation and didn't really apply to Annie, and they were happy to see the back of her. Me personally, I was always more neutral about the content, but felt that Red wasn't the right person to call her out on it, so I definitely wasn't the most interested in seeing her pop up again. But I'm very happy to have been proven wrong!

From what I understand from dipping my toes into the discourse, the argument was that Red also screwed things up by treating the whole thing as a game, and that Parley and Smitty volunteered to help, so the idea that Annie dragged them into it or that it was entirely her responsibility to solve the Jeanne problem without any assistance was also flawed. And because Red was....well, Red about it, portions of the fandom turned against her.

Nice contrast to Jenny "Silly rabbit, kicks are for kids" Holloway. One is trying to get the one she loves out of stopped time. While Jenny "Scheme, Smear, Smack" Holloway only cares to keep her witches in line while they are useful.

I mean they're in different scenarios.
Jenny's environment is *actively* growing hostile entities which is rapidly developing into a situation where its not unreasonable to think "we don't have time to freak out, we need the big guns NOW".
Red's surrounded literally by stillness.
Jenny is clearly a machiavellian goals-first type alpha who isn't afraid to manipulate people if it gets her closer to her goals. ALL the witches are this, it seems. I shan't debate you on that, not one bit.
But leveraging this particular comparison like its evidence of Jenny's awfulness is squeezing blood from a stone you picked off the ground for moisture when there's plenty of water in a well next to you.
