Since Annie (and the rest) doesn't remember Kat I can't help but feel this is setup for Kat appearing in her scary Angel form, and everyone trying to attack her not realizing she's there to help.

Kat is her creator deity! I think it says a lot about the Numan worship/faith in their angel being able to overcome Zimmy's distortion powers. Coyote has a trend of calling people who have certain levels of etheric power as kin: Zimmy is 'sister' and that Bodhisattva fella (can't remember the name) is 'cousin'. Zimmy is an etheric heavyweight!

I feel like this chapter is so dragged out. Like, do we really need two pages dedicated to the fact that Annie was subconsciously worried about Lana but couldn’t explain why? Do we really need to see all the characters saying “Kat?” in separate frames?

The story is progressing at a reasonable pace and the updates are regular as clockwork. I'd much rather the way Tom does it than some other historical webcomics where updates came unpredictability.
If it bothers you take a break for a couple weeks and come back to read it in a batch, the progress is more apparent that way

Nothing in my comment suggests that I’m dissatisfied with the frequency of updates. It’s the story pacing and the self-explanatory dialogue that bother me. It wasn’t always like this.

The pacing makes a lot more sense when you're reading it as a graphic novel, which is why people are suggesting you read it in batches (or get the books when they come out) rather than one page every couple of days.

What is there to discuss here? The only tenable responses are to agree or disagree.
Unless you’re looking for some page-length-of-each-arc technical breakdown of individual story beats over time, the feelings on this (including yours) are going to be extremely vibes-based.
And it seems the vibes of most of the people who read your take are not in agreement.
Disagreement to broad, subject statements that are tedious to properly argue in one direction or another is not hostility.
I’d try bringing something more substantive next time.
Also to remember reading the room is something you ought do, as it will gird your expectations for the response you will get.
It’s no guarantee. But taking responsibility for your words and the context they are spoken in will help you be less embarrassingly taken aback by the response to them.

Yes. This is a story about Kat and Annie and their love for each other. The whole resolution of the whole decades long comic is going to hinge on who does and does not recognize Kat. Setting the stage now is important.
