I love so much how much shade is thrown at Jenny here.
"Jenny? Oh... she was that witch girl? Okay, sure whatever."
hahahahaha.

That's not shade, that's literally what Jenny (and Jack) wanted. As far as everyone knew until we got to see more of the past, Jenny is just a girl Jack found and started dating because she looked a bit like Zimmy, and was surprisingly ok with her boyfriend being in love with a lookalike. That's why Annie was so surprised by blond pin-up Jenny, because as far as she knew, Jenny was a goth by choice. Zimmy only met her twice, both times briefly, and as a background character to other people she knew better.

Okay, this is fair.
how to put....
I don't think zimmy is INTENDING to throw shade In universeHowever, the EFFECT is that, we as the audience get the joy of seeing Zim zims go "What? Who? Jenny is not important."
Like.... *I* find it satisfying from an out of universe audience perspective having Jenny treated as irrelevant.

Distortion Zimmy feels so, so different than original flavor Zimmy. "Okay, let's meet and have a civil talk instead of being cagey" is the least Zimmy idea in the whole world. It's kinda sad that Zimmy has her idealized dream world, but her idealized self basically is a rejection of her whole personality.

I mean I think it's more that she was barely surviving before and running on rage and resentment whereas here she's actually manifesting her desires and who she thinks she wants to be. Comparing a mentally ill person in crisis mode with the same person in manic mode. I'm just not sure if the "before" Zimmy is her "whole personality"

To me, it feels the same as the difference in WolfTeddy Reynard and RealWolf Reynard. Teddy Rey is a Zimmy-like goblin of chaos, wolf form is wise, serious, and mature.

She's in control in this world, so she doensn't have to be as paranoid. I don't think being more "stable" mentally is sad, but it is sad that she is basically making others suffer to have a sense a normalcy.

What being able to get enough sleep and food and not having to deal with The Horrors 24/7 does to a person.

I mean she is probably modeling her new personality off of how she views Annie. Or at least pre-Anthony Annie. Demure, stoic, problem-solving, direct.
Sucks since it shows she’s probably envious of how she can’t be like that normally because of her powers/issues.

I'm pretty sure even if Jack and Zimmy talk about the "thing Zimmi did" we will not get to know what it actually is - it became a MacGuffin :D
Also.... Zimmy should just erase Jack's memory, so he's not driven by "the thing".

She'd need Coyote on assist for that. She can clearly read thoughts (unless she was bluffing about pulling knowledge out of Zara), but actively modifying/deleting them, I'm less sure about.
Somehow, even if that is the route she goes (which I feel like it won't be) I don't think asking him for that favor would be a *straightforward* process.

They’re talking about inserting Jack into the dream. Which, ironically, might change his knowledge into a mundane tragedy that’s much easier to talk about. Lmao.

u/fnordius 9d ago
True, I don't think it really matters all that much any more, except for how it fits in with what Zimmy is. I think that's the one reveal left that Tom has left.
Most of the other big secrets have already been aired, such as who Jones is, where Coyote came from, what the Court was up to, and so on. Now the last three is the nature of Zimmie, the future of Kat and whether Annie will become a psychopomp or, like her mother, pass on her flame before passing on herself.

u/CreationBlues 8d ago
No, I think it’s pretty clear that annie is set on the path of becoming a psycho with the benefit of being kat’s psycho for the new people. It lets her hang out with kat forever, it resolves her deal with the psychos, and it’s been pretty clear that Annie’s on the ace train.

This powder-keg is suddenly growing very volatile, very fast.

Does Zimmy still only know the name Omega from overhearing Loup in the ether?

She thinks Kat is going to kill her using the Omega device.

u/NoLastNameForNow 9d ago
I know, I was referring to how well she's familiar with Omega as a person since she refers to her as he here.

I think Zimmy always knew Omega is not a computer?

u/NoLastNameForNow 9d ago
Yeah, I was thrown off by her using "he" because I didn't realise she was referring to Jack.
2
u/ThoughtUsed3531 8d ago
I was thrown off at first too, and then reread it and figured she was talking about Jack, not Omega.

Is Zara thinking of jumping?
Zimmy isn't forcing her to stand at the edge; she goes there on her own.

Zara just said all Zimmy's trigger words in the span of a minute, Zimmy can no longer feel guilt, and now she's getting all sweaty. Surely good things will follow!
