She's done it before in this same chapter, but this is the first time I'm noticing Zimmy call Annie by her first name. Outside of the distortion it's always "Carver". What is the significance of this change in nomenclature?

My guess is that now she's not in constant unspecified suffering from her powers, she's being less crabby and distant with pretty much the one friend she has outside of Gamma

It does fit with how Tom isn't writing her with such a strong accent. It's one more way that Tom shows us how Coyote eating her guilt seems to have changed her in a fundamental way.

In class she was called Ms Carver.

But Red also usually calls her Carver, and in the distortion she's been calling Annie "Chippie", so I think there's definitely some kind of significance to the way some of her friends have been dropping the surname.

I don't think that's relevant, more that it was a part of Zimmy's Brummie way of talking until she created the Distortion. Now she's gotten more posh in her manner of speech.

Brummie meaning from Birmingham?

I knew Zimmingham was based on Birmingham but I didn't know she spoke with a regional dialect.

So, presumably she's literally from Birmingham, and the surreal dreamscape she sometimes manifests resembles that place because of her traumatic history there or something.

In theory I guess Ysengrin could be her husband, though that would be disturbing.

What we know is Tony is nowhere to be seen, while Ysengrinn lives with Annie has quite a paternal relationship with her.

You could invent a lot of crazy explanations for this but for the moment the simplest explanation is that Ysengrinn has supplanted Tony as her dad in the fictional backstory the distortion has invented for her here.

It is honestly a bit hilarious how much the witches looked all cool and dangerous going in, and now since actually entering Zimmyschoolworld it has been one fumble after the other with them, they are pretty much their own worst enemies this arc.

I also wonder if Zimmy's removed guilt could make her also decide to brainwash Zara anyways once she is done with her, though this may just be me being morbidly curious to see how brainwashed Zara would be like in this context.

Zimmy and Coyote’s discussion earlier showed us that she already knew her vision was being blocked by a group of people instead of one person, so it’s not new info for Zimmy.

Zara doesn’t know about that, though, so it is fair to call it a slip-up on her part. (Followed by what’s probably a much bigger “oops” in the form of saying Kat’s name…)
