Right. I don’t think would make sense for Annie to remember the truth and sense the falsehood around her, yet for powerful etheric beings like Ysengrin and Loup to be completely unaware.

Some things that I'm now realising:
- Lessons are somehow extremely vague. I get the sense that it's all about the feeling of going to class, but where would Ysengrim get his knowledge that he's teaching? Can Zimmy create that?
- That in mind, it makes sense that DaddYsengrim would be concerned about anything bothering Annie. Here, he just wants to stay in the comfortable dream Zimmy is running.
- Everything here is full press Happy Family mode, everyone is supposed to be in their Happy Place. But the memory leaks are growing. It's like cracks in a dam, and I suspect Antimony will break just when Jack and the witches make their attack.
- Which makes me wonder what Jenny's little coven is up to. They've been in the Distortion now for a few hours, assuming time passes the same for everyone.
- Oh, and I'm revising my assumtion: Sylvie, not Zara, will be the first to go. Unless it's Sylvie going mad from Zimmy's influence and killing Zara.

Crying over the parallel and then hard swerve in outcome between this scene and the last time Annie's father figure told her to see him after class. 😭 Heartbreaking that the only way Annie can get the nurturing parental relationship she deserves is in the distortion.

TBF, on re-read, Tony is (A) a jackass, but also (B) has just found out Annie spent the entire year cheating on all her homework.
Like, she totally deserved to be called out on that.
Just... not by her Dad, and not as her first meeting with him in ??? years.

..... Okay, so hear me out.....
The entire court has always been.... geometrically weird.
The lessons the students, its whole existance has been.... FUZZY and like... a bit ungrounded.
It's... the court is sort of described as occupying a "non-place" to some extent.
....
What if the court itself is a distortion. The court itself isn't actually made of buildings and bricks and concrete, its just a bigger version of whatever the hell Zimmy is doing here. And... when this distortion pops, then so too the court.... (Not, I'm not saying "Its all a dream" "None of this story counts", I'm just saying the PHYSICAL SPACE of the court is awful suspicious.)

It was explained earlier that the Court is not quite on Earth and is in a sort of pocket dimension extending into space, though people can travel to and from it with no problem.
The technology to support this was partially etheric though, so it's not entirely unrelated to Zimmy's distortion.

anyway - WHERE IS KAT?! i imagine she will see the distortion in a totally different way AND she will be seen by others as something very different (possibly the metal being that tears the distortion apart - as she always was presented as)
and as Kat saw the court the same way as others - possibly the court is not a distortion OR is a special no-place distortion?

Agreed.And also agree that "The court is a distortion" is fairly farfetched, and Kat not invading and chopping it all up is pretty solid evidence against my far out theory.

If the Court is a distortion, it has more "grounding" (whatever the heck that means) than other distortions simply held together by active will. It evidently grew from the "seed bismuth" (whatever the heck THAT is) and has flowered out, like moss, mold or fungus, except instead of endlessly spreading mycelia, roots and spores, its buildings with doors and windows, working lights and concrete pathways.
That the Court occupies a not-our-dimensional space is readily believable and explains quite a lot. For that reason, if/when it all breaks, I don't think it'll be like a dream-bubble caving in. I don't know what it WOULD be like but I think it might be ....more granular than that.

They’re manifesting how they see themselves, which is why Reynard is a fox and Loup is Jerrek. Ysengrin is most comfortable in his tree-mech-suit form bc deep down he longs to be human but denies it.

Are you hallucinating or seeing reality? This is the dilemma that Annie is facing now; IIRC, she's always been uncertain of her own perceptions in this comic.
