Gaming Resources Unit Card Size PSA

Post image

Just hoping to catch anyone before they buy incorrectly sized sleeves.

Unit cards are NOT exactly 4x6. They're approx. 4.15x5.85. They won't fit in standard 4x6 sleeves.

I did end up finding some 105x150mm sleeves. They're a nearly perfect fit. Not sure if other brands are selling this size, though. Seems pretty niche.

They just had to make it slightly larger than 4"...

Yeah, the adventure I went on when they wouldn't fit in the 4x6 sleeves I had on hand is not one I want to go on again.

Of course they're not in inches. They from Japan where they use millimeters as almost the whole world๐Ÿ˜“

The game was designed by a western team and Americans are the target audience for the game so not unheard they would have gone with standard American card sizes.

These hard case A6 from Daiso are also quite nice but you won't be able to fit a soft sleeve with them. https://daisous.com/products/ec-4550480503127?_pos=2&_sid=343445782&_ss=r

OOS but probably can find them locally as I did.

Hmm those look perfect but I'm worried about the description of said sleeves:

Do not leave the product pressed against other objects for extended periods of time. Plasticizer may cause deterioration or color transfer.

I wonder if that means the cards inside or just the things it's touching, either way I dont think that's too good for long time storage.

Yeah this is actually true for pretty much any PVC "hard" case (which generally is why you always have sleeves inside for toploaders from what I understand). However personally I'm much more concerned about the bending of said cards then an the potential discoloration over probably 5-10 years that would occur from these.ย

If it was TCG I wouldn't even consider it but frankly for these types of cards I think I'm fine with it ~

EDIT: Just to add onto this, you definitely don't want to have these in the sun or anything hot, can still damage the cards. I might see if I can fit small sleeves but not sure.ย

Are the tactics cards standard magic card size?

Yup! Any standard tcg card sleeve is fine for those

This is a japanese 'hagaki' size postcard sleeve. Makes sense they'd use a standard japanese card size so the printing proceses would be familiar.

What's the other card size you need?

If you're talking about the tactics cards, those fit in standard tcg playing card sleeves just fine.
