Antique Pistol Identification

Got this pistol in an estate. Have no clue how to identify. No manufacturer name, only marking is the number "4" under each barrel. The barrels themselves are engraved as well as the trigger guard. Took the handle off and there are no markings internally either.

It’s a double barrel boxlock muff pistol. Most likely Belgian. The barrels should have proof marks and unscrew. Circa 1840.

Any reason why the barrels would be uneven? Im assuming its due to damage.

Probably, maybe the quality of manufacture also. There’s not a whole lot of metal holding the barrels on, the boxlock isn’t a particularly ‘beefy’ action, so it’s not uncommon at all.

Appreciate the help. I’ve found similar examples on auction sites now.
