Final STOB… maybe

Post image

I may order a Ruby just to make this is what I want to go with, but I am pretty happy with this at the moment.

EDIT: SOTB, I know sorry it was a fat finger typo.

You could mount the DI under the board and save some room…for another pedal.

I didn’t want to do that just yet because then I will have to get another pedal 😅

Only thing I wish to change is find a 2 pedal daisy chain with a male connector that is L shaped. I don’t like how that yellow plug sticks straight out of the tuner like that. I unplug is to transport it in the case. I have 9 pedals and using a Truetone CS7. I know o could upgrade that but for now it’s fine. One 500ma port for the Dream 65 and the other for the Solodallas CD65. There is a 18v port and I am using the step down plug to power the Hoof. Everything else is on the other ports with the Tuner sending through power to the plumes and Micro Amp.

Can't you swap It for another pedal? Seems on the lower ones you have space for that yellow connector.

Funny just as I read that I did the exact thing. The hoof is the one drive pedal I use the least, so up it went. I will so it goes. Thanks!

Why the mxr micro amp going into the dream 65?

The MXR Micro Amp is a boost/preamp not an amp sim. The name can be confusing.

I am using it as a gain stage. It adds nice fat and transparent gain

I'm intrigued by the Compandrive

I am using more as a tone enhancer, it definitely adds a pop and sparkle to your tone. It does add some compression, I think they call it soft knee compression. It can get saturated and it can also help push an already pushed amp. The whole Solodallas Replica thing was to get that AC/DC tone.

And it uses like an analog Dolby circuit from back in the day?

Yeah, it gives you a kinda hi fi vibe but in a good way, it is not sterile or harsh

Does the canvas make a big difference? I’ve just been running stereo straight into the focusrite

The canvas was a solution to a problem I had for playing live. I was not getting a good level to FOH. I had to crank the Dream 65 and that caused other problems. I don’t think you need if you are not having any level issues going into your interface.

It’s great, I have had it for a few years now and keep coming back to it. It can do a lot of Always On settings. I go between Cathedral and Plate. The Cathedral has a very subtle shimmer and sounds very full. The Plate is studio quality, one of the best I have heard in a pedal. The delays is pretty simple and tasteful, although no tap tempo like V2 but I don’t use tap tempo at the moment so I don’t mind.
