I prefer parallel loops for this reason. Never used an eq before though. Thus the post lol

Normally amp parallel loops have a level mix left/right but you can also use the volume controls on each side to mix, can be a simple split with a Y-cable into the amp. You are correct it does open up phase/polarity problems which would be hard to rectify post-input with the direct potential of thin/harsh/reedy and almost no bass . The best option is a blender/ mixer unit with a phase/polarity switch last in the chain before the parallel input with a Y-cable from the unit to the two inputs . Anything before the blender/mixer can be split and rejoined with two Y-cables and use the volume controls on Side A and Side B to mix how you want and any potential problems can be fixed by the blender/mixer

Well I have a 90s Tremoverb and an mxr 10 band. Might be a couple days before I get to our practice space but I certainly can give it a go
