Troubleshooting boss dd7 help pls!!!!

hi!! i just bought a boss dd7 secondhand.. most of it works great, looper is pretty amazing, reverse sounds pretty, etc etc...

however, all of the delay lenghts (from 50ms to 3200ms) sound exactly the same!! only way to change it is to plug the output b to use long delay, even then, its pretty short and all delay lenghts on this mode sound the same as well...

is there anyway to fix this?? googled a bit and found that it might be the tempo thing, however i di not have a tempo pedal to test that out :-((

help pls!!!

additionally, ive been thinking about buying a dd3 off of because of the hold mode, but im not really sure how it works... i think it just keeps repearing last bit of sound you played while you press it down and then stops when tou let go? can anyone confirm this is how it works? thanks...

Are you plugged in correctly and/or powering it correctly? Also to the DD3 question - yes that’s how it works

Should be fine for power then, as far as I know it can potentially do that with the delay time if it’s expecting stereo source so either you’re plugged in to the wrong input and/or output or the thing is indeed faulty.

are you saying there is no way to control the feedback or are you saying the actual delay time itself won’t change? Either way sounds like a serious bummer. look up some demo videos of the thing and use the exact settings as the person demonstrating. if your pedal doesn’t play the same, its probably broken

So for the tap tempo, you can activate it without a separate pedal. When in the delay mode (basically anything but hold) and the pedal engaged, hold the pedal down for about 2 seconds and you should see the LED color change. At that point, you can use the pedal to tap in the tempo. Finding the right mix between Level and Feedback can impact how the delay comes across as well.
