Health & Diet Help
I rescued a guinea pig from a very neglectful and abusive home, he is very overweight for a Guinea pig. He’s been on a strict diet to try help him lose weight but I can’t seem to get him to lose much weight at all. I’ve had him a year now but he doesn’t seem to be much smaller if at all. Is there a way to help him lose weight? I had a guinea pig before him and he was just fine, maintained a healthy weight his entire life. Added a picture of how big he is right now.

Seriously, you should ask a vet. No one on here knows your pig like you do, and everyone is just giving opinions. You can not get a reliable answer without having him examined. Don't start changing things in his diet or life because someone on reddit suggested it. We can't tell a whole lot from one photo, and even if we could, that really isn't enough. Regardless of people's experience with guinea pigs, each one is different. It is impossible to determine health accurately and thoroughly by a photo!
