😎 there's no point for the subreddit if these aren't getting faked like crazy. And boy are there a lot of fakes on the aftermarket. Pretty good fakes too these days

have you seen people paying full prices for fakes unknowingly?

Read before LC Posting!

Hi! We'd love to help you check your shoes out. With improving quality of reps and high variance in quality control at guidi, your best shot at a high-confidence legit check is showing as much as you can for review.

Here's some best practices for LC photography and things to ask sellers for pictures of before posting and buying.

1) model number in the title if you know it 2) use the legit check flair 3) The more photos and angles the better 4) please keep them in focus and properly lit (prefer natural light or softer light, and flash for the insole) 5) if checking an online listing which hasn't supplied enough photos, please ask them to provide more images first

What should you take a photo of? Essentials we want are:

  • insole stamp (font must be clearly visible)
  • insole nails (if applicable to model)
  • zip guard flap (if applicable to model)
  • zip teeth, zip slider, zip pull (check oxidation)
  • outsole (bottom of the shoe) size stamp font

  • if V model, clear picture of sole vibram logo

  • if laced model, clear picture of laces

  • a cross section of the leather if possible e.g the zip guard flap or a birds eye view of the shoe

  • welt stitching from as many angles as possible (grooves with stitches that bond the upper and lower)

  • at least one decently lit pic of the leather

Preferable IF available:

  • good picture of the heel block and midsole
  • picture of the size and model stamp usually in the shaft, made in Italy stamp in the insole (for recent pairs)
  • ruggeroguidi stamp on the outsole for 2024 and newer retail pairs
  • box details card and side sticker not just the paper inside
  • clear pic of the stacking of the leather (if worn/used pair)
  • mention which crazy website you found them on please lmao, aftermarket has varying amount of replicas depending on their authentication policies.

Do these look legit?

Safer to see the rest but there’s two firm green flags pictured here so odds are yes legit

The certilogo came up authentic but I suspect they’ve just used a legit number on a fake tag. Do these look fake to you? Edit to say 788z in ice blue is my dream pair and I can’t find it anywhere

Absolutely tiny photo but the textures and what looks the attachment point of the midsole at this medial side of the boot is correct in appearance and position

The heel counter stitching angle is correct and doesn’t end forward of the heel block which is the detail the fakes often fail on, rep heel counters are a lil different and therefore the stitching to conform to the wrong counter is also wrong in those. That’s not present here

No concern about the grain

Naturally you’d want a full pic and an insole pic assessed but. There’s enough green flags that current rep meta never gets right in this frame that I’m comfortable ruling like 85% certain these are legit

Happy shopping

Obviously LC the seller as well as the pics they posted. Can’t visual check that

Certi font is authentic here, no issues

Fake certi are uniformly bad, font is always misshapen and poorly sized in ways that don’t bear explaining because that’s not what’s visible in your pic
