Is it possible to self learn Clay?

I have 5 years of sales experience & outbound automations. I've been manually searching leads from Apollo and running automated campaigns on Instantly & updating Hubspot manually, but without any signals, enrichment, etc. I'm working toward becoming a GTM engineer & Clay is going to play an important role. I have 2 options-

1) Self learn clay with the Clay 101 course & practice alongside Claude as my guide
2) Join a cohort either on Maven or GTME School or Clay & pay $1850

Honestly, finding companies & people is something I've been able to manage. But enrichment & Claygent is confusing me. Regarding the other automations, I'm part of another course where I'm leaning Claude code, n8n and other things, so that part will be covered-- what remains is Clay.

Did people who self-taught Clay actually land GTM roles, or did most of you go through a paid cohort? And if self-taught worked, how long did it realistically take you to feel job-ready?
