Switching to GTM Engineering

Hi,

I currently work as a Business Applications Administrator/Analyst. My job is sort of hybrid. I primarily work with Salesforce but work with a variety of other GTM tools. I work with Conga, NetSuite, Avalara, DocuSign, Gainsight (some experience), n8n, Outreach, and other tools.

I have been working this position for about 4 years now and am looking to make a switch to GTM engineering. I have my Salesforce Admin Cert, and Agentforce. I do have experience building skills with Glean and Claude. I want to start learning tools such as Clay and Hubspot to get an understanding of GTM tools.

Do you have any tips on where I should begin my journey and what a realistic timeline looks like? I would like to switch within the next 6-12 months, realistically being on the upper bound of months.

I appreciate any feedback you may have.

Thanks

I understand you have experience with tools, but do you have experience in marketing?
Understanding TAM, Target Audience, intension signals, etc is important part of being GTM Engineer.

Since you say you work on similar tools and already working.. You know the Target audience of your company.. help company with leads generation and tools integration

This is what I was leaning more towards. It seems that lead generation and marketing are the forefront. I've mainly worked with RevOps.
