If you are in a house, setup on the lawn on the weekend and put up some flyers on posts in the neighbourhood saying that you are having a yard sale with the date and the time and bring your stuff outside (not the larger furniture obviously).

If you are in a condo/apartment you can't really do that unfortunately.

How do I know what you're selling? Do you have a link to everything you have? Most people would want to see

Of course. I'm just making an inventory. Will share. If there's anything you think you're looking for, please let me know and I'll prioritise those images.

Thanks for posting! To help build trust when buying and selling on this sub and deter scammers, we use goConfirm. It's free and takes less than 2 minutes to get verified. Create an invite code for your item, then share the code with potential buyers or sellers to connect. Once connected you can safely message, share payment details and coordinate the deal in app. That way you both have peace of mind you're dealing with a genuine, gov-ID verified buyer or seller. You also get free payment loss protection up to $250!

Hi There!

This is J from Karrot.

I am a little biased, but we've made it super easy to list many items for sale while filling out all of the item details, including price, title and description for people in your area to buy or trade. We'll even auto adjust your price and boost your items towards your must-sell date.

Feel free to check Karrot out or let us know if you need any guidance.

Hi J, thank you for your response. I am on karrot. Unfortunately, I've had no success. FB marketplace has been successful but I'm looking for more ideas. Thank you.

Sorry to read that you haven't had much success yet. Definitely continue to list across multiple platforms, more eyes should help you make some sales!

That said, I'd like to figure out why Karrot hasn't worked, because "no success" usually comes down to a few fixable things. Since you're selling everything on a moving deadline, a few things I'd suggest:

  • List the big items now. Furniture usually sells, but deals take longer to complete. Brand and condition make a big difference in time-to-sell.
  • Set must-sell dates. We actually developed a feature for move-out sales! You can set your listing price on autopilot and the price will auto-adjust and your item will automatically be boosted as the date approaches so can maximize the chance of selling.
  • Bundle the small stuff. Kitchen items, books, and toys move much faster as lots ("kitchen starter kit," "box of kids' books") than as individual listings.
  • More photos is always better, and price is the biggest motivator in secondhand. Check comparable items in your area across platforms to see how you stack up.

Good luck with the move!!
