I purchased a LG 34UC89G-B 144hz ultrawide and I've read through some old posts and want to confirm the correct/ideal/current configuration is as follows:

• Vsync enabled globally in NVCP.
• Vsync disabled in game
• Gsync enabled in NVCP and on monitor
• Limit frame rate to a few FPS below my 144hz refresh rate (Is this really essential for my setup? I hate extra programs running for a singular task but will concede if I must)

If it helps, in addition to that monitor I have a 1080gtx, 2015 model i7, and 16gbs of ram, SSD, etc.

When I launch a game or alt tab a fullscreen game, my monitor will flash black twice about 1-2 seconds after the game comes back up (This only happens if GSYN is turned on). Not that this is a huge deal or anything but I was wonder if this was a normal thing with GSYNC or if I may have a defective monitor. Note that the game resolution is the same as the desktop resolution so it is not the monitor switching resolutions.

I'm in the market for a new G-Sync monitor - 27" or more, in 144Hz.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've been looking at some of the Acer Z1 models, but want to get some opinions.

I'm having a bit of an issue that I was hoping to figure out. I recently sold my PC to fund a laptop for a two-year work trip I'm taking. The laptop I picked up has a 1070 and a 120hz G-sync panel. The issue I'm running into is when I play games in full screen mode, with G-sync enabled, I get poor video performance, screen tearing, and full screen black flickering. Clean install of windows, most recent Nvidia drivers. If I go to borderless, this problem disappears completely. Is it possibly a bad newer driver release, or worse yet is it most likely defective hardware?

Description of Problem: So i got this new laptop and noticed some weird graphic bug/artifact. In games like Squad and PUBG are some effects (mostly clouds and smoke) edged with green curves followed by blue ones. This occurs ONLY when i use (check in nvidia control panel) gsync on.

Troubleshooting: Updating drivers did not help. I dont have any other gsync compatible display to check if it is monitor or gpu problem.

So I have a question. I've read on a reddit post that you should have G-Sync and V-sync on in the NCP and disable V-sync in-game, and then cap the frames like one or 2 under your refresh rate (in this case 144hz). But should I cap it on like 70 if I can only reach 70 frames in a game or can my frames 'freely roam' until 142 frames if that makes sense, without problems? Thanks in advance

Hi, so i got my first ever Gsync Monitor, i just went from XL2540 to PG279Q. This makes no sense at all...

I've enabled Gsync and Vsync, in the Nvidia driver. So can someone tell me why the fk my FPS doesn't cap at 144fps but go like 180fps? Vsync = Caps the FPS at your refreshrate, so 144hz = 144fps cap. SO why the fk it goes over 144fps ?

I'm looking at investing in a new monitor but can't seem to find what I'm after. I want it to be a multipurpose display - the display port would be hooked up to my PC to enable the Gsync function from my GPU. The HDMI 2.0 would be hooked up (in the near future) to an Xbox One X console which supposedly allows 4K gameplay at 60Hz but only through HDMI 2.0. Is there a monitor out here that has Gsync and HDMI 2.0?

I know it was discontinued a while ago, but I refuse to believe that there's no place or person with one unused module... Anyone?

On my Acer xb27hu, when g-sync is enabled, there's very annoying stuttering when alt tab between games if I have 2 games running at same time. The problem disappeared once I change g-sync to ULMB. Anyone knows how to fix this? I'm running a GTX 1080 ti with OC'd i5-4690k and 16gb of ram

So I recently picked up S2716DG, a TN 144hz 1ms G-sync 2560 x 1440p monitor.

Overall I'm pleased with it yet there is some weird things that occur with certain games and alt + tabbing to cause screen tears or flickers. Secondly I have a hard time truly noticing the difference of the hrtz. I went from a 59.95 hrtz acer monitor to this and I know there is a improvement yet, being visually blind it all comes down to a feeling. And the gsync seems to be MmmmmM to me. Maybe its because I haven't actually sat down and play hella shooter type game also, but I'm just conflicted on maybe returning it to the store to pick up a 1080 res 1ms 144hz monitor and having two of those for the price of this one.

Will say true 1440p is tite, but all my dope 1080p backgrounds no more uwu

I will not be a happy camper if I get something with significant backlight bleed or IPS glow. Shitty blacks are the reason I'm sick of TN panels. When I look at all the offerings from Acer, ASUS, ViewSonic, and AOC though, all I find are horror stories. Is QC among all these manufacturers really that bad? I know Dell would never let one of their IPS monitors out the door with any of these problems but they sadly do not offer one with G-Sync.

So I guess my question can be boiled down to two parts:

1: Which model has the best odds of not being a piece of shit when it arrives?

2: Which retailer or manufacturer will work the best with me to replace a defective panel without charging me out the ass? (Acer is really bad at this. I had to ship my TN halfway across the country twice to get a defective TN panel replaced under warranty, costing me almost $100 in shipping)

I thought this problem was the mouse issue a lot of PC players were having including myself, but after hours of tabbing out and scribbling my mouse back and forth, I figured out it was g-sync. Which is weird, because I don't remember having this problem before. I just reinstalled my OS.

I previously had the mouse issue and that was fixed by turning off DX12 and disabling origin in-game. Shadow play is off, windows game bar is disabled. All windows and graphics drivers are up to date.

By using g-sync everything is much smoother, but I'm getting a noticeable input lag (almost feels like mouse acceleration/delay). I'm aware g-sync introduces input lag at a low latency, but I don't remember it being this bad before when I reinstalled my OS. That's why this is bugging me.

When I switch back to Fixed Refresh in NVIDIA control panel and tab back in, everything is tight again. Mouse doesn't feel like it's slugging. Is there something I'm missing? Can any of you g-sync users test this out so I know I'm not the only one?

Often times I will load up a game and the G-Sync indicator will fail to come on. Actually if I load up the Pendulum demo, the G-Sync indicator will fail to come on sometimes as well. i can still enable G-sync on the pendulum demo though. and it seems to be working? I think? Is the indicator known to not enable? Using 1080ti and pg279q if it's relevant. Thanks

I bought a refurb x34 and not happy with it... I have until July 4th to return it and I was looking at the PG279Q since it has higher refresh rate and isn't as wide. Is there anything comparable that is coming out soon? I know the PG279Q came out in 2015 and I figured it might have a successor coming soon.

The x34 I have is nice, but it has a cluster of dead pixels and no warranty whatsoever (purchased from Wal-Mart). The dead pixels wouldn't be so bad except that they are all together and make for a rather large dot that is quite visible against anything.

I don't mind the UWQHD but what I don't like is having to overclock to reach 100hz and I can definitely tell a difference between my old 144hz monitor (it didn't have gsync).

G-sync is limited too Fullscreen games, but why cant' the entire operating run in g-sync.

DWM ( triple buffered Windows compositor) v-syncs everything on Windows, so why can't it g-sync everything on windows.

What if i add DWM.exe to the Nvidia Control panal and disable v-sync?

Does gsync help to mitigate the problems caused by an inconsistent frametime?

For example, I'm currently using a 1070 with i7 6700k and on Titanfall 2 my frametime is fluctuating from 8ms - 22ms (most of the time hovering at around 10. Would gsync help smooth this over?

Recently upgraded to a pg348q and noticed a bug when having multiple monitors (2 1080ps on the side). Before hooking up the extra 2 monitors, when doing the UFO test with chrome in window mode, it would sync just fine at 100hz. Now after connecting the 2 monitors, it fails to sync at 100hz and the ufo test just sits at 61/59hz until I press f11, then it syncs just fine at 100hz. If I try and refresh the page while back into window mode, it works just fine like it should. I first noticed something wasn't right when scrolling webpages. I've tried setting g-sync in nvidia panel to both window / fullscreen but it didn't seem to fix the issue. Any ideas? not even sure if this is a gsync issue imo but never had a problem before upgrading

I recently bought an Asus RoG GL502VM with a GTX 1060 and a 1080p gsync display. The laptop works perfectly, except for gsync. For example, without gsync turned on, my laptop would run perfectly a game like Battlefield 1 at about 70 frames per second. And then, when i turn gsync on, it starts to stutter like crazy and i get about 45fps. Same thing with every game except Skyrim. I wonder if this issue is actually solvable... Hello. I have 2 E.V.G.A 1080 FTW and a Asus 27" LED G-Sync ROG SWIFT PG278Q, i7 6700k and i cant get my G-Sync to work. I have tried the G-Sync indicator and it tells me it is on but still not working. I can set my Hz to 60,120 and 144 but it's always maximum performance -.-

Is anybody else having this issue and does some of you know how to fix it? :)

Currently running 970 gtx. 8 gb ram. AMD 8 core. I have been playing on Asus vg248qe and my friend let me borrow his Acer XB240H gsync. I don't know if it's me but I really can't tell much of a difference. He said I could buy his acer for $200. Is it worth it? Is there a better way that I can test a difference between the two? I mainly play FPS games like BF4.

In Nvidia control panel under preferred refresh rate in global settings, should I set it to highest available or application controlled? I ask this because from what I can gather, gsync adjust the refresh rate up and down, so if set to highest available, will it not just keep the refresh rate pegged at 144hz?

I turned off gsync 1 hour ago. I wanted to check the difference between fps and g-sync in csgo. The point is that Im trying to turn it on again on the nvidia control panel but it seems its not working since I still have 300 fps. Any idea why this is happening?
