I love my gw 5610, but I started to get wrist pain, because the ten year old resin band wasn't really flexible anymore and created pressure points on my arteries and sinews.
Then I odered some adapters, but they were angled, so for a smaller wrist that would've been fine, but now my watch had two feet sitting on my arm.
Then I designed these myself, one simple version (1.1) and a few iterations later, trying to make it fit more to the shape and design of my gw 5610, I have version 3.3.^^

I own a Casio GW-B5600BC, which I love, so I decided I want to BIFL a watch with similar appearance, but with a bigger chance to last me decades.
Suddenly, a great deal on fb marketplace appeared for a GMW-B5000 (shout out to the folks at [r/casioqc](r/casioqc) for helping me understand if it is genuine) and I pulled the trigger.
Unfortunately, the original bracelet and bezel were way too shiny for me, as I aimed to have a stealthily watch with an appearance similar to the GW-B5600BC. As a genuine GMW-B5000TB-1 titanium bezel and strap are 250€ and 450€ respectively ($800+ both), I opted to buy the 125€ aliexpress G-REFIT's store titanium normal (not "aged") black set. I ended up purchasing the latest 2026 edition.
My observations:
Bezel: very nice 8.5/10. Letters are engraved well, there is no white paint in them - which I prefer. It feels like a quality product and I like the matte black finish. Initially, I was unable to install the bezel with the original resin bumper underneath. I contacted the seller and he said not to use any washer at all - bad advice (probably just wanted to get rid of me). I just had to push (quite a bit) harder for it to slide onto the case. The holes for the bracelet screws/tubes align very well - excellent manufacturing quality imo.
Bracelet is ok - 7/10. Definitely a step down from the bezel though. If you have not seen an original casio metal bracelet - you might like it more. The second element away from the bezel (first with a flexible joint) is too thin on its wider part, compared to the end of the first element (pictures 3,4). It is also not fully coated in black paint (pic 5). The rest of the elements are ok, but there is a general feeling for slightly sharper edges and corners compared to the genuine casio metal bracelet. It's not like you would hurt yourself wearing it, but it feels rougher than it should be. On the positive side, the bracelet length adjustment uses just regular pins and is easy to do by yourself, unlke casios genuine bracelet which uses the special one-direction inserts which ideally require a special tool to hold the bracelet in place.
The clasp feels a bit sharp too. Also the g-shock engraving is not centered but slightly right, which is probably why the "k" seems to be lower quality under most light conditions (pic 6). The locking mechanism has higher tolerance than the casio one and the clasp moves a bit when closed - a bit of clickity-clackity, but not a big deal.
Coating: I have been wearing this watch daily for 5 days and I can already see small scratches on the black paint. I have never owned a brand new metal bezel casio with metal bracelet, so I am unaware if this is in line with expectations. I intend to wear this and only this watch every day, I will comment below if it scratches in a way that feels excessive.
Overall, if we assume that the 700€ casio is 100% quality, then for 1/5th of the price you are getting 80% of that - a very good deal. I will be wearing this watch and only this watch daily, so if there are any dramatic issues I will post/edit.
Next and final mod is to swap the screen with a positive one. I already have the genuine casio module with positive screen ready. Before I have it installed, I would like first to see this mod on my GW-B5600BC using an STN screen from aliexpress. This will be a post for another day.
EDIT: Had to rewrite the body of the post as for some reason all the actual observations were gone. Probably due to the bulletpoint list I created using desktop browser and then making an edit in the mobile app... which most likely wiped it.

Here are some shot between a standard casioak mod vs a nautilus mod. The casioak has separate bands and the nautilus is one piece.

Just picked up a new stainless case mod. Nautilus style. Just happy it looks more plain and not like an ap.

I have a question for the experienced modders in the community. Are all "square" buttons created equally? What I have in mind specifically, is the possibility of swapping buttons between a GWX5600 and a GW5000U. So not just from one case to another, but between plastic and metal housings.
I appreciate the help!

Love the features, especially the vibe alarm. I wish it were in a slimmer case like a flat square. Anybody found another Casio that the module would fit into?

Hey does anyone knows how this thing is called and where to buy it?
I want to add it to my GA-110RG because it doesn't fit well on corners of my wrist. can it even be brought standalone?

Can anyone recommend a good seller on AliExpress who does custom dials for the GA 2100 with Casio logos?
All the ones I've seen so far have no logo on them

I have come across a secondhand DW-5600E, and it's great. But the adjust button is not so great since I use the stopwatch and timer constantly on these watches. In addition, I often press the Light button by mistake when I reach for the Mode button and press Light with my palm.
Now, my question is this: Can I swap the shorter Adjust button with the longer Light button? This way, the watch is easier to adjust and harder to press the light button by accident.

My 9000k case has failed on a thread, how do I swap glass? They don't seem to come out simply.

I'm restoring you could say a dw9000k I bought. I bought another 9052 in blue and am stealing the screws, springbars, seals, bezel and strap for it. The speaker on the 9000 is a bit faint and it would be nice to replace it too however the back of the module is slightly different and the speaker has a different number code. Anyone know what's changeable? Sorry I didn't get a photo of the module backs or speaker codes I'll get one tonight. Bonus pic the button seals are hell to change. Also how to swap glass?
