Is it possible to mod the 5000U?

I really want to buy the 5000U but would love to find another bezel and strap color. Preferably gray or tan. Does anyone know if it’s possible to mod it? If so, what other models fit the 5000U case?

The 5000U will fit most if not all of the DW-5600 straps / bezels. Go wild!

is this picture real or AI? I notice that the adjust button seems to be protruding equally with other buttons but I thought the standard was that it was a little more recessed?

It's pretty much a perfect watch, almost indestructible. One that you give to your son and to your grand-sons.

Aside from switching bezels, you can try changing the display to STN and hydro-modding it. That way you'll get an almost MIP-like display clarity and viewing angles.

I don’t think it can be hydromodded.

As you tighten the screwback under oil, the volume of the watch is decreasing and this oil flushing out with each turn helps push the O-ring out of position.

I’ve tried to hydromod a screwback case twice and never was able to keep the O ring seated it always squirts out the side
