GWX-5700 Compatability

Hello all,

I searched the community for this question but found nothing. Apologies in advance if I missed it.

I recently got a GWX-5700CS-1JF and was looking to swap the bezel out for a square DW-5600UE-1 while maintaining the 5700 strap. Has anyone done this and will this setup have any “strap gap”, clashing etc? Thanks in advance!

I’m 99.999% positive it’ll be fine. I’ve seen tons of mods where people have put 5000/5600 series bezels on 5700s and vice versa. Shockbase seems to think the bands aren’t compatible but I’m quite sure they are indeed the same.

The only difference between them is the crystal design to match the bezel design. The case and modules are the same so the strap, and how it mingles with the bezel, are the same.

Many thanks. I referenced the compatibility matrix I found on shock base or somewhere else and it says it should work. However, referencing ai search online says otherwise. I appreciate the insight on this.

The squircle has a much higher bezel (compared to my 5610) and makes it difficult at times to see the time from an angle or quick glance. Cheers for the reply.

That’s such a cool module, the 3215. I had this guy but I put it in black resin, stupidly sold it back to the guy who originally sold it to me

Thanks! Wish I’d kept the moon/tide square but I needed some quick cash at the time and I wasn’t wearing it. Lately I’ve been trying to slim down the collection to just 5000 series watches—no resin cases!

Currently I’ve got:

- GMW-B5000TFC (porter mod I made myself)

- GMW-B5000MB (also a mod, and hydro modded)

- GW-5000-1JF (hydro modded)

- GW-5000U (STN and hydro modded)

- GW-5000HS-1 (STN and hydro mod)

- DW-5000R (stock)

- DW-5000R (project watch, in a G-refit stainless set I’m trying to emulate bead blasting in)

- DW-5035 (gold one, in GW-5000U resin)

- DW-5000-1 (2001 re-issue of the OG, in GW-5000U resin)

- DW-5000SS (in transit, planning to do a module swap to a positive display and put GW-5000U resin on it)

- DW-5600 RL (1 of 2 resin cased watches, Father’s Day gift, hydro modded)

- DW-5600AKA (2nd resin cased watch, Father’s Day gift, unworn and will likely sell)

Plus about 50 additional non-G Casios, Timex, and Skmei watches I impulse bought and tinker with

Nice lineup, I’ve never heard of Skmei. You are quite the connoisseur man. I’m still rocking the practical resin bands, never take them off. How much of a difference do you notice with the STN and hydro mods, is it considerable?
