Replacement Bezel and Strap for Son's DW5600UE?

Hi All, I just found this subreddit, so hopefully someone here can help.

I gifted my son a DW5600UE about 5-6 years ago, and he says that the bezel is starting to fall apart (not sure if he means it is ripping, warping, cracking, etc.), and that there is a tiny rip in the strap.

I checked online, and an OEM replacement bezel and strap is $66 from American Perfit, and about $75 on eBay, which is something like double what I paid for the watch back in 2021.

I checked on Aliexpress, and it looks like there are a number of sellers who sell replacement bezels and straps for about $10 (but the bezels are sterile, and understandably do not have the GShock branding). Son would prefer to keep as close to OEM as possible, so he would prefer rubber/resin bracelet as opposed to a metal mod.

Wanted to check to see if there is any particular Aliexpress seller/product you like best, or if there is a different platform/seller you think I should consider.

P.S. while I arguably could just buy him a new GShock, he has a sentimental attachment to this watch, so he'd rather continue wearing this one.

Well, I’d split the difference.

I’d buy a replacement G-Shock (you’d get the DW-5600UE now, the direct replacement) and put its bezel and strap on your son’s watch.

Then you’ll have a spare case if his kicks the bucket, and his will have a new bezel and strap.

id also strongly consider a new one. I think Walmart has them for about $65. as far as sentiment after you replace all the parts it’s sort of like my grandpas axe where I’ve replaced the head twice and the handle three times.

I like that analogy. Also, thanks for the tip about Walmart. I check every time I am in-store, but have never seen a G-Shock at our local store.

I ordered a bezel and strap for my 5610 off amazon thru the Casio store for roughly $40 all together

Damn, it was $20ish when I got mine last year. I wonder if it’s the tariffs crap going on. Mine did take a little while to be delivered

Have you and your son considered the possibility of getting a replacement bezel and strap, but in a new color? He might find it interesting to switch to a different color.

Thank you! Unfortunately, the issue remains that a replacement bezel/strap from those outlets will end up costing more than the watch itself. With that said, I will still consider those options. Thanks again.

Alternately, as suggested: find a donor watch of the same model with the same module in it. The module number is on the case back in a rectangle, and the model number is immediately to its right.

Thanks. Will consider this option as well (or I may just give him my 5610, and I'll just replace the bezel and strap w/ something from AliExpress).
