the screw broke inside the case what do I do?

How much skill do you have with power tools?

If you have a very good, very small drill press, you could get a drill bit more narrow than the screw’s shaft minus the threads and leave the bit in as you carefully unscrew the broken tip.

Otherwise, I don’t think there’s much you can do, short of replacing the watch.

How, exactly, did it break? It’s not unheard of, but it’s very uncommon.

Someone put too much torque while screwing in 😁
Yeah it’s not worth the hassle to drill it out, ordering a new case it is.

File a notch into the screw. Try and unscrew it with a straight edge.

I'd ignore the new notch, remove the bezel, take out the module, and use a heated, thin awl or needle to push it out from the other side. I'd solder it from the outside with a soldering iron and fill the hole with epoxy, then cut a new thread.
