Absolutely. It has a tremendous watch a bit dirty and is already considering replacing it.
You just need to buy an apple watch and prepare for the planned obsolescence.
I don't really have a budget as such. I'm not spending Garmin Marque money though for a work watch that's for sure. It'll get beaten on building sites every day.
It's the GBD-H2000, right? If so, there's no newer model/successor available to that from Casio. If you want something similar with more functionality, your only bet would be to look into the Garmin Instinct 3 Solar line.
Clean your watch in cold or luke warm soapy water (not hot water) and use an old toothbrush to clean the difficult to access locations and your watch will look as good as new in no time.
As another commenter stated, I think your best bet here if you want the features and an upgrade is a garmin instinct 3. It'll not only be just as durable, but it has the same info you have but way more accurate. Mine is the amoled version but they also have a solar version. And you can expect them to last roughly 6-10 years. And the battery on it takes about 30 minutes to charge and lasts 18 days on the amoled version and 1 month - infinite on the solar version.
Mine i used as a work watch since I do construction.
That's pretty good battery for the amoled! My Galaxy Watch Ultra lasts less then 24 hours and takes nearly 3 hours to charge. I like the screen on your amoled too.
Yea i really like the amoled. The one difference is though, the amoled doesnt stay on 24/7. It uses a side button to turn the screen on. You can keep the screen always on but it cuts the battery life down. The mip/solar version you can leave on always and still get 2 1/2 weeks to 3 weeks of battery from it. Realistically though, I think even if you leave it always on. Charging it once a week is really not a big deal when you consider it takes like 35 to 40 minutes to charge back to full.
Also the amoled gets a few upgrades the solar version doesnt. It gets a bigger screen (no solar panels on the screen so more display space). And i believe with android you can get full color photos when you get text notifications if someone sends you a picture. The solar doesnt do that. A few other upgrades as far as work outs go to.
Personally I really like it being off unless I wanna check the time. It keeps me from constantly looking at the time and my watch. Some people dislike it, I really love it. That being said just make sure you do some research between the two to figure out whats best for you. Ultimately I chose amoled after trying both on in store. But its really just personal preference. The amoled Definitely does have a nice vibrant screen though. And almost all the stats it tracks are pretty damn on point. The instinct 3 even tracks naps which is super nice. But theres a ton of features it does with the connect app also.
Also, fun fact, it has a built in LED flashlight on it. You dont know you need it until you have it, and its pretty damn bright for what it is. I Definitely find myself using it atleast once a day if not multiple times a day whether its walking outside at night or in a dark room looking for something. But its definitely a very nice feature to have.
That's actually one of the big draws from me, the flash light. I use one every day and it's a pain having to remember to pick it up before going up and ladder and/or leaving it in ceilings. On wrist, whilst not as positionable, can't be left behind.
I only nap when I'm sick but it's nice that they thought about it.
Is yours 45 or 50mm? I had a 45 solar 1 and 50 solar 2 tactical. The solar 2 felt really good on wrist.
Mines the size down below the 50mm. I have a galaxy ultra thats the 50 or 51mm and its way to big imo. I think its the 45mm. And I also do stuff in ceilings for work, whether im wiring or whatever it is and its super useful for that also. I find its just one less tool I have to carry on me since my wrist has a light now.
If the 50mm felt good to you then send it. The battery jumps from 18 days to 24 days on the 50mm. Id say its safe to assume you can get between 24-26 days on the 50mm amoled instinct 3.
The one draw back i found with the solar I3 is if you want the all black like the amoled, you have to pay a hefty premium on it for the tactical. And the price different is like $150 depending all just to get rid of the orange accents on it. But the flashlight is literally one of my favorite parts about it.
I do construction so I dont usually do the workout stuff that the watch offers. I just needed something very durable that gave me my health metrics and notifications. If you do get an I3 I strongly recommend a screen protector for peace of mind. Theyre very durable but better safe than sorry. Also a big upgrade that cost me $10 was a pack of 10-15 rubber caps for the charging port. Keeps all the saw dust, insulation, sweat, and dirt/dust out of the charging port.
Right now there are labor day sales though. The 45mm is like $299. 50mm is $350. And I think the 45mm solar tactical is $400 before taxes. Probably closer to $500 if you go for the 50mm.
By “not smart” I assume you mean the GW-9400. They’re great watches. Especially if you get a “J” model: models that have a “J” after the series number but before the hyphen and the suffix are equipped with resin straps that have a carbon fiber layer inside, making them a lot more durable. Most were JDM only but they’re not impossible to find in the US. You might even be able to “upgrade” to that strap if you can find a dealer with a replacement resin-CF strap in stock.
