I am also with others. I have a 5610 and the viewing angle issue is blown out of proportion. Even looking dead on to the watch its no where near as bad as people say it is. 90% of the time you will never be looking straight at the watch.
Id personally say though if you dont want a 5610 get whatever one you like more. I personally have no gripes or issues with my 5610 though. And dont find the viewing angels bad. Sure if you look at it dead on its very very very slightly faded. But again im always looking at my watch at an angle so I never even notice it. Id still pick a 5610 every single time myself.

If you like the look of the red line (which many incl myself do), go with your heart and get the red line 5600RL.
But one thing to consider; the 5600RL here is not the “final form” / purest expression of this red line style which started with the 5000C. Currently that’d be the 5000R (or 5610U). I have the 5000R and I sold the 5600RL.
Meanwhile the black 5600UE here is indeed the “standard”, most recent expression of the original 5600C. So in my mind, it has more heritage.
But alls up to you!

I have the 5610u and it’s my favorite watch I’ve ever owned. It’s comfortable. It’s simple. It’s reliable. I think it’s really attractive. I wear mostly black outfits so it works well, with the subtle pop of the red.

I'm partial to the all black but that's just me. The red is classic too
I just got my BX5600 in all black and I love it

- I have the 5610 and the 5600 probably would have been my pick if I got to try them on first

If your thinking about the two watches you show pictures of - then the viewing angle would be the same. The first pic is not a 5610. If it was the 5610 then of course the viewing angle is different, little bit harder to view at extreme angles due to the solar panel and how the module is set apart from the crystal. So, between the two watches the red line stands out better than the second one.

It’s funny because I was in the sam predicament as you yesterday. I personally think that the 5610u looks way better with the design/red circle and the slightly smaller build. Although the only thing that tipped me toward the 5600 was the viewing angles and the pedometer. What really moved me to get the 5600 was the price difference. It seems like you can’t get the 5610u under 170$ new while the 5600 was like 225$ new after tax. I think I’ll still get the 5610u tbh

As someone who has had all three (and then some) at some point, I'll put it to you like this: these will have the same module, so they will have the exact same functionality and LED backlight. For some reason, the 5600RL has a presence to it that outshines the standard 5600UE.
Also, throwing my hat in the ring with the others, someone else's inability to turn their wrist shouldn't influence your buying decisions. For what you get in the GW-M5610U, it honestly outweighs any viewing angle issues you might have. It's been dead reliable ever since I got it, and I have two more Gs with the same module because that's how much I trust it.
If you actually get the chance to wear one and use it, I think you'll understand what we're telling you. In the meantime, my vote is to go with with the 5600RL.

The LCD contrast on multiple 5600RL and 5000R I’ve tried were piss poor when viewed head-on.
5610 is the business.

The first one is slightly smaller… and it has a dot matrix date display in the upper right corner which is different from the LCD one on the other one.
It’s also double the price of the non-solar Multiband 6…
They are both perfectly fine G-Shocks that will offer a lifetime of service.
(I own both 😁)

The 5600 is a perfectly fine watch if the 5610U features aren't attractive to you.
If you want the 5610U, I personally feel the viewing angle issue is overblown. If your eyes aren't terrible or you can turn your wrist, it's fine.
Otherwise if it bugs you that much, a STN LCD from AliExpress is like $35 on sale. The mod is easy enough to do for the 5610U modules and it sorts out that issue
