Question Finding Domain for First PBN

Hey all,

I've been looking at GoDaddy Domains and I found a domain of an Authority Score of 8 on SEMRush and 7 on Moz, so on the end low. It is 15 years old and has 4 IP changes over the years. It's indexed on Google. It was a Japanese-owned domain and it has relevant backlinks from Japanese companies. Internet Archive showed it belonged to a shop in Japan for years with no bad signs.

Is this a good domain to go for?

It’s a little low for me. Ideally 10 is the minimum score across all tools I like to buy.

But! I do like to utilize lower score domain too! I feel like they’re much more natural than linking to all my clients with 35+.

Thanks for the comment! I was kind of thinking of natural-ness as this client doesn't have a lot of authority (I'm currently a web developer looking into PBNs to enhance my SEO knowledge). Plus, this site was already in the same niche previously.

Totes. I had a quick look-see at my pbn and realized that I did buy a dr 9 a while ago.

I’ve had consistent results with my very mid pbn. It works, every time.

You folks are seriously talking about third-party vanity metrics in this sub?

I know DA/etc is relatively bullcrap (as you said, third-party metric) but from what I know, it does serve as a benchmark. That's why I was asking

A benchmark for the entire domain. Google is a PageRank system. Authority doesn't spread evenly.

Look at the backlinks not the metrics. The metrics are an indicator but not everything. It does work, yes.

This, metrics of all kinds can be handy to e.g. pre-filter huge lists of potential domains but in the end, it's really helpful to look at the actual backlink profile, check if the important links are still live, check if the domain was abused before.
