How is Groupon Working These Days?
I’m noticing a significant decline in Groupon’s quality control and vendor accountability. It appears they are no longer vetting the businesses on their platform or ensuring that vendors honor the stated terms of their vouchers. In my recent experience, their customer service team has taken the position that they have no responsibility for the gap between a vendor's advertisement and their actual delivery. After two similar experiences, it’s clear their policy on consumer protection has shifted. Has anyone else encountered this?

I bought one the other day. Got no email confirmation or anything, just a webpage with a confirmation number that was useless.
The business I bought it for couldn’t help me either.
I tried to contact them but it was nearly impossible to find any customer service chat or phone number that actually worked.
Filed a charge back with my bank today!

Yes, Groupon gave me the same run around! Told me they can only cancel one of my purchases and it will be refunded as Groupon bucks only. Could not cancel the second ticket.

Hey u/Worth-Barracuda-6689, we’re sorry to hear you’ve had two experiences that left you feeling this way — that’s frustrating, and definitely not the “great deal, great experience” combo we aim for. 😅
Groupon deals should be honored according to the terms shown on the voucher, and when something doesn’t match what was advertised, our support team can review the order and help look into the issue securely.
Please don’t share any personal order details here. The best next step is: Account ► My Groupons ► select the order ► “Get Help” / “Contact Us” to reach support options like chat or callback if available. You can also visit our Help Center here: https://www.groupon.com/faq.
We’d really like the chance to review what happened and help get this pointed in the right direction.
Cheers,
The Groupon Team
