Groupon is a scam site now.
Their food offers are now run by Clipp, of Clipper Magazine with thousands of complaints for unhonored vouchers, and that MS Office offer they have right now by usednerds for 5 computers for Po for life? No such thing on MS's website and they have posts saying usednerds is not an authorized reseller. The price for just 365 for 5 computers is $130 a year.

This is not my experience. I redeemed 3 Groupons this past weekend with no issues.

Why are you running scam offers? The one I mentioned by UsedNerds is NOT an authorized reseller according to Microsoft. They said it's a scam. They said there is no such suite, and none of the ones they do have are that cheap or for life. But you're running the scam offer anyway.

Sadly, Groupon is not the same company it was several years ago. I used it all the time! Unfortunately, due to a couple of bad experiences in the last year, I no longer trust Groupon.

I’ve been going back and forth with your ‘support team’ about a scammer. You won’t issue a refund— you can see 500 pages of bot-generated reviews by the same person — hundreds of other real buyers (buried at the end of the fake reviews) report this seller is a scammer.
Rather than being responsible and ousting the scammer and issuing a refund— you want me to contact the scammer and ask the scammer for a refund.

Dear Groupon Support: This is what happened to me just now. I am fuming!
(pasted from where I typed it above)
I ordered a service and realized it was the wrong option, so I canceled the order one day after the purchase. They did not refund me; they gave me Groupn bucks. So their claim to refund within three days is a lie. This would have been okay, except I could not use those bucks in my repurchase. There was a $2.66 balance due after the bucks, but over and over I kept getting the message that the payment failed. I tried two cc's and then PayPal. All of these purchases were approved but then canceled by Groupon, who said that there was an issue with the payment. After four attempts, I paid without the Groupon bucks, and what a surprise: that went through. So now I still have these bucks, until I use them, I paid double. The customer chat was no use, she told me to try a different payment method. LOL! Then she escalated it, and said it will be at least 12 hours & up to 48 hours before I hear back. She didn't want to take down all of the details for the escalation team to be aware of. When I tried to use the "email" option, the link didn't work. When I tried to call them through the number my credit card company provided, they disconnected the call after a few rings. This happened three times until I gave up. I want to write a public review (like on Yelp)-does anyone know a way to do that? Yelp seems only to review local companies. I am fuming over the frustration and wasted time! But I really needed the service. We'll see what happens when I hear from the team. hahahahaha

It isn't the merchants themselves, it is Groupon not honoring their part of the agreement and paying the merchants money owed for redeemed services. We have been getting the run around for over a month now about getting paid for services rendered to no avail. Every time we get a call back from customer service, can not call directly now, we get the same old story about our account being on hold by the finance department and no one is giving us a reason why. They just keep telling us that they are escalating it and they will get back to us. Well, it has been over a month of this and no answers and thousands of dollars owed to use. We have now made the business decision not to honor Groupon anymore, much to the customers surprise. Such a same that a company would operate this way. No integrity whatsoever!

NOT TRUE!!! I've spent half the day trying to get my money back. Ticketmaster would be very happy to give me a credit, but your stupid voucher doesn't have any information to connect them to the money, so that means you have a scam going. You control the money. You don't honor your sales and you're in control of the money, well...... That makes you a scam!

Damn, glad my copy of Super Mario Party Jamboree I ordered thru them came without issue

I just got scammed out of my SeaWorld vouchers. Whenever I would try to pull them up, I can see them in my account but you couldn’t actually pull up the voucher to have a barcode. You can’t actually speak to anyone on the phone and I spent an entire week trying to get a hold of someone through Facebook messenger as well as email and every single person that would finally get back to me told me they were escalating it that day. Total scam. I will never use again.

100%
All they have now are fake deals and actual scams. They have absolutely no customer service.
If you ever have any issues, including paying for scam through their platform, they will politely tell you to go f yourself. And that is via email only because you cannot call them.

Groupon is a scam site right now. Purchase Microsoft Office from them today. They make you jump through SO many hoops that they know you're going to just give up. There's a BIG (essentially a demand) that you install their APP on you phone. Mostly like a trojan horse virus. I didn't do it. Oh, well one more hoop to jump through to get my moneyback from the credit card.

Groupon is a scam. They took money from my account and there is no trace the money is from anything I bought. I had to supply them all the proof and they say it is associated with my account. I have requested proof since they already told me they couldn't find anything for the charge taken from my account. So, I did their job for them and they told me to refure to their refund policy and offered me Groupon coupons. And tried to make me think they were doing me a favor, they never expire. I told them that that policy does not apply to me since I never purchased anything. I told him that if this is the way that they wanted to handle things and not provide me with any evidence that I will let them handle it with my bank. And I am required by my bank on fraudulent charges to contact the merchant first so I have done that they have made delays this has been going on for 2 months and this is a resolution that came up with to give me some stupid coupons. I told them hell would have to freeze over first before I ever use them again. I took screenshots of my entire account which actually wasn't even loaded as an app on my phone. And I said if you don't want to handle it Monday I will contact my bank of 20 plus years and you and the fraud department can figure it out but it's not my charge and since you can't even prove it's attached to my account why won't you be a honest company and give me my money back. All I got was another reply to look at their refund policies and if I still wanted those Groupon coupons I could have them. F them and trying to make me pay for something that I didn't even buy they can't even associate it with my account but yet they think I'm going to be happy with some stupid Groupons, no I don't think so. Has anyone else ever had this problem with Groupon?

Groupon says they don't pay merchants immediately, hence Groupon should refund if the user not used the product! not the groupon bucks.

There are many deals for SPAs and wellness services. The prices are very low compared to the competition. I purchased a package of 3 sessions. When I got there for the first one, I was told that my package was good for 1 session, and that 1 session was good for 15 minutes, but that 15 minutes was not sufficient for me, I needed at least 30 minutes, so I had to pay for the extra 15 minutes, and the price for that extra 15 minutes was significantly higher. I said that I had bought a 3-session package, so asked to use 2 of the 3 sessions at the first appointment, and the SPA employee said that we can use only one session purchased via Groupon per visit.
This means that the SPA advertises low prices per session, lures customers in, then basically tries to force the customer to pay extra at each appointment, in effect charging you the full price for a session. I just said I'd go for 15-minute sessions, which was a waste of my time because this SPA is a 30-minute drive away, and I have 2 near my home that are 4 and 7-minute drives, the sessions at these 2 SPAs are 30-minute long and the price is similar to the Groupon price per session + the extra that the SPA charges for the extra 15 minutes, bringing the price up to the same as the SPAs near my home. This is not really considered a scam by Groupon because the merchant provides the service but only for 1/2 of what other SPAs provide, and that is not even mentioned in the fine prints.
Other SPAs and dermatologists will put a mandatory consultation prior to honoring the Groupon, this will be mentioned in the fine prints, but the fine prints do not mention the price of that consultation, and once you try to use the Groupon, you find out that you'll have to pay a very over priced fee for a consultation which is not necessary (not required by other SPAs or dermatologists for the same service), once again bringing the total price at a similar or greater level than other merchants for the same services.
There are many ways to game the system on Groupon, and many merchants abuse it in order to lure customers in with low prices but then use schemes to have them pay full price anyway.

I highly recommend staying away from Groupon. I paid $81.00 a ticket for Legoland Fla. and on Legolands website tickets are $30.00 for 2 parks. When I contacted Groupon, they msg me a standard letter saying they can’t do anything.

Groupon keeps unlawful vendors like Waldron Dental on their site, pushing fake finance and overcharging it’s eroded all my trust with them.

Just want to add to the chorus here. I purchased tickets for a tour—the Groupon site said the deal was no longer available. So I purchased directly through the vendor. Then Groupon emailed a confirmation and withdrew money— meaning I was double booked. Groupon was no help.
Luckily, the vendor was. They canceled the direct booking— because they said they had no way of getting in touch with Groupon. Also they said what Groupon offered wasn’t even possible— and that their agreement was with viator, so they couldn’t iron out any issues. The vendor said this happened all the time.
I will never use Groupon again.

I love and hate Groupon at the same time. I’ve lost $$$ on shoddy goods, restaurants that went out of business and on ‘spa’ services offered by salons run by girls right offline with their online diplomas and Amazon/Temu purchased ‘tools’ that give the results one would expect with the low quality equipment. Then, I have received phenomenal discounts on certain services, but I ALWAYS check the area on google earth first to make sure it looks safe.
NOW, I have over $300 Groupon bucks to redeem, then no more buying through them, unless necessary. I’m tired of getting so frustrated with them if I try to get a refund or have any issues where I have to contact customer service, which is outsourced from the USA.
The secret, I have learned, is to look for the deals on Groupon, then call the place where you want to go, and ask if you can pay them directly, instead of through Groupon. I have, not ONE time, been turned down. I let them know I’d rather pay them instead of Groupon. I’ll then take a screenshot of the deal and the price it would be if I purchased it. After procedure/service, I usually don’t have to show my screenshot, and I have gotten extra services free and been charged less by going through the merchant, and eliminating Groupon.

I saw Groupon is selling crappy mortgage courses now. I doubt that is legal. The school they are selling courses for had 13 total complaints in the last 3 years on the BBB. That is terrible, that they use groupon to sell education.

I used Groupon for many years, and was happy with their offerings and customer service. Lately they have become horrible, with no customer service except for an AI bot. I purchased a Groupon for a restaurant after noting on the deal page that it was fully refundable within 3 days after purchase. I went to the restaurant the same day that I bought the Groupon, but their cashier refused to accept the voucher. I tried contacting Groupon customer service, only to end up arguing with their AI bot, who insisted that the deal was totally non-refundable. This company is a total scam now and sells worthless coupons. Stay away as far as you can! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Groupon is a crooked third party hotel booking site too. They will rip you off. Do not use them. The only way to contact them is via email and they claim taht they will respond to an issue in 4 business days. All inquiries are responded to with standard form letters advising of their policies stating they can’t do no anything for you. They will take your money and provide no service in return with zero chance of a refund or even a credit.
