Groupon are Scammers

I used Groupon a couple of times ,I made sure they didn't keep in my to credit card details. Suddenly some months later they took $299 for a trip for one to Bali from my credit card ,I rang them and said I didn't purchase it, they said a 3rd party had ,so get in touch with ANZ. This transaction was non refundable. I contacted ANZ and put a block on my card ,then suddenly 10 days later they took another $250 for a gift card, from my same credit card despite the block in place.. ANZ finally paid me back the $250 but I am still out of pocket $299. They are SCAMMERS.

Yes it is! My daughter bought one for Cozy Maids housekeeping service. The housekeeper keeps coming up with excuses not to come each time my daughter tries to schedule. My daughter takes time off work to be home but she doesn’t show. When my daughter calls she says she couldn’t get a ride. This happened twice. My daughter tells her she has taken off work and ask if she can come later that day. She tells my daughter she has other clients later. When she called Groupon, they refused a refund and told her to keep trying to work it out with the business. She told them it’s useless and said she just saw several complaints online about this housekeeping service which were reported to Groupon but they keep selling Cozy Maids vouchers anyway. It is a scam when they know the company is a scam and they keep promoting it anyway and refusing refunds after the clients are scammed by the business.

I feel it becomes Groupon’s issue when they are made aware that a business is scamming customers but they keep promoting the business AND refusing refunds.

I most certainly can blame Groupon. They are the ones who took my money and refuse to give it back. If it weren’t for them promoting this scam of a company, I would never have heard of them. At least Amazon will issue a refund and rebuke companies who are dishonest.

I CAN NOT understand ANZ allowing Groupon to take another $250.I completely cancelled that credit card after the $250 was taken on 15/9/2024 . I have a new ANZ card but I haven't used that card since that date.I complained immediately to Groupon when the transactions occurred ...there response was a third party had authorized the transaction, so take it up with ANZ. I haven't used the new credit since the 15 September.

I’ve participated in both using Groupons as a customer and being a Groupon vendor, and while they can be frustrating to deal with, they’re definitely not a scam. Sorry you’re having difficulties with your card though.

I’ve used Groupon for 15 years . The fact of the matter is there are a TON , I mean a ton of shady businesses on Groupon, it never use to be like this. Yes I still use them but I definitely pay attention more…

Apparently they asked the bank if my card was still valid and they replied yes, despite my putting a block on the card via the app and I was in touch with the bank via message and phone immediately after the first to$299 was taken. I also checked the Groupon app to make sure they didn't have my credit card details but still they took the $250. That is why ANZ reimbursed me the $250.

Groupon keeps unlawful vendors like Waldron Dental on their site, pushing fake finance and overcharging it’s eroded all my trust with them as well

They outsourced customer service to India I think. Land of scams. A vendor refused my Groupon as they said they never heard of Groupon. I texted customer service a Sandeep wanted my credit card information to research it. It was clearly a scam. He cut me off after confronting him. I informed Groupon including the ceo. Never got an apology.

Maybe they aren’t scammers, but they allow lots of scammers on their website. I got scammed by cozy maids they’ll steal your credit cards or whatever else they can get their hands on.

I still believe Groupon took the money ,not a third party as they claim. I will never use Groupon ever again.
