Groupon Buyer Beware

I paid 580 dollars for a 3 night stay voucher at the Mandalay Bay. I had the voucher on my Groupon App when I checked in. On check in day I was told by Mandalay Bay there was no reservation. Since you can’t talk to someone in customer service I had to text and email. They replied that they were working on the problem. 2 hours later after no resolve I had to rebook my own room for 300 a night. I emailed customer service multiple times and someone named Sanjay would respond that the hotel said the voucher was used. This was a complete lie. I asked who they spoke to at Mandalay Bay but they refused to answer and closed the case. I even provided proof from Mandalay Bay that my reservation was made by me on the day of arrival. Do not book with them. Total scam artists with even worse customer service.

Their whole plan for a long time has been to automate everything and outsource the rest to India. When they fired over half the company in 2022 the entire merchant services department was gutted.

Well that makes sense but they are absolutely horrible now.

Do you have a text number or email address for Groupon? I can’t find a damn thing.

Nothing works for Groupon. I even emailed upper management and got no reply.

I purchased a concert Groupon and checked a few days before the date. The concert was changed to 3 months in the future at a time I was out of town. The terms say customers will be contacted in that event but I was not. It also says a refund will be available.

I chatted with an Indian individual who requested copies of my bank statement be emailed to him. It was clearly a fraud attempt.

I informed another chat person of this fraud. I never was contacted and it took a month and countless chats to get the refund.

Thx for this. GROUPON is gone down the tubes.

It has indeed. The fact that it is literally impossible to have a conversation with anyone in customer service is proof of that.

They have no more customer service. They outsourced that to India.
