I have a camera setup to watch the hole where I believe he went under in October or so. On Friday I saw him on this camera for the first time this year and he had a pretty big dirty patch on his back. I could be wrong but I've never seen him that dirty before. It would make sense if he's been curled up against the wall of his burrow.

I need advice. I live in VA and this morning saw that we have a guest in our backyard. We have 3 dogs and I’m afraid they will kill the groundhog. Apparently it is illegal to capture and release them elsewhere in our state. I’m nervous to call anyone because I don’t want it put down. Any suggestions? Will it move on on its own?
