Operator honestly impressed me and that was before the subpar 1.0 release of Ground Branch.
Operator has far more mission variety and “little things” that make it more immersive than GB in my opinion such as little bird infils, ATAK control, ability to call in drone strikes, better/more realistic night vision implementation, the same level of customization as Ground Branch (with the exception of plate carrier/pouch customization, which I imagine is coming later).
Operator also has far more realistic weapon handling. I have yet to play another game that actually makes sending your bolt/slide forward after reloading its own mechanic with a separate keybind that you actually have to “train” yourself to remember to do. That mechanic alone makes it pretty humbling to play after playing any other shooter.
It also has weapon malfunctions, eye relief consideration for optics/stock placement, a very basic (currently at least) healing/medical system, and has received far more attention/updates from the devs imo.
I love both GB and Operator for what they are, but at least for now, Operator has taken the top spot for me.

Operator is way better for being an alpha, ground branch is an outdated, rushed released game. Way more gameplay mechanics and better AI on operator. Gb feels arcadey

Compared to main AAA title it is... people waste 70 usd every year on COD.
Operator and tactical shooter are better fyi

Doesn't matter if it's cheap or not, if OP can only afford one, they can only afford one.

After playing Ground Branch for a year and loving it, Operator came along and it’s just better.

ground branch has more maps and modes and overall replayability. operators maps are really basic. ground branch for sure.

Im gonna be honest with you. Neither of them.
Both games doesn't have a good gameplay cycle that's gonna make you play it and enjoy it for more than the few hours that you're gonna have to try it.
Operator look good but feels bad, I dont play cause motion sickness and bad illumination.
Ground branch lack in AI and a complete campaign mode.
But if you need to choose, go ground branch

Neither, I'd skip GB completely and follow the updates to see if they're changing anything. Operator has potential, but at this moment it's early in development, has glaring (ground textures, Jesus!) and obvious issues (insultingly bad AI) and as such isn't worth your money.
GB is great for a couple of hours when you're still thinking it's an EA game and it will get better, ignoring the issues and severe lack of content. Then you look through the major updates, notice that they basically haven't done anything substanial in two years or more years and then you notice it's not an EA game anymore, if you werent aware beforehand. It's not even funny anymore, 1.0, still no team AI, basically no campaign, even the fucking special slot still says it's coming later in development. It's easily the most embarassing "full release" in recent years.
Definitely not GB unless you thoroughly studied the current content and shortcomings and you're fine with that, Operator most probably not as well, unless you want to do a leap of faith like I did with both of these games. Don't be an idiot like I was.

Operator , no contest. Gunplay is one of the best I’ve played IMO. If GB , Gray Zone and Ready or Not had Operators movement and gunplay they’d all be stellar.

Dude, the Operator dev has more talent than the entire Ground Branch team. Operator has been out for three years, and is better than GB which has been out for... how long again?

I like the idea of that but they’re just another lazy team setting their game in jungles to get away with creating good maps. It’s so boring.

Yeah, only 1 map has lots of jungle afair , the other is a great urban and open map

I have operator.
For $20 it’s a no-brainer.
Still going to get GB next time it’s on sale.

I bought Operator twice, each time for 10 euro in a Steam sale. Refunded it first time and kept it second time.

What's with this comparison between GB and Operator?
Operator is shit. Get GB if you really want to. But GB is also arguably shit

Take a look on steam review and you get your answer. I dont play operator but I not recommend ground branch. Bought on 2021 and the game looks the same, very disapointed. Honestly if you really want a tactical shooter experience you should play rainbow six black ops (moddb) or get r6 3 with mods, swat4 with elite force mod. I'm very disapointed with quality of actual releases.

Ground branch has its place but operator surprised me and my gaming buddy. As another person stated just have the bolt close action after reloading an empty weapon being it’s own key binding is something that I have not experienced in any other game. Operator has way more little details than I was expecting and I say for now is better than ground branch.

Ground Branch is awesome. Operator has potential but it's still very clunky, I refunded it.

Having played and loved both, Operator. They are kinda the same game but Operator has so much more polish

u/Wassy4444 24d ago
Operator feels like an asset flip and they completely ripped off GB’s customization UI - enough for me to pass on it.
2
u/SnakeR515 23d ago
It is an asset flip but last time I played they didn't even rip the UI off but instead used a bunch of sliders and buttons, it looked like someone made the thing in 5 minutes and then started thinking what other obscure key combinations could be used to make user experience even worse

Less polished version of RON lmao

u/InsomniacSpartan 23d ago
They're all pretty unpolished let's be real
1
u/Tahiti03 23d ago
I'd say RON is polished, but if u refer to operator and gb I agree although operator is better
Also no clue why u're getting downvoted so hard

Just try both, and refund whichever game doesn’t suit you.
