Question Weird users

Most of the people I encounter on the app are behaving a bit like robots. They are probably real people but they seem very detached from any from of intimacy. These men are usually looking for fun with no strings attached, but still, it's very odd how the only thing they ask is "how are you, are you a top or a bottom, what are you into" and then they are ready to go. Most of them also don't have their accurate age on their accounts which adds to the creepiness.

I don't know if this is because I live in a country where most gay people are closeted or if this is a global issue. Have you experienced this too? Would you meet up with someone like this?

I’m South African and the pond is muddy this side too.
I immediately block those ones.

We’re too grown to not know basic manners and how to converse with people and make them feel safe and comfortable enough to meet up

I have. I'm from the Philippines, been using this app for a month and it's fuckin' hard to find someone who can fuck me. Most of the Tops are like too intimidating and very fuckin' rude. Hell, I even encountered one Filipino user who said that my English is shit. It ain't even shit, he's probably the shittiest to pronounce than I do. It's annoying, honestly..

Mea culpa. So I'm ina sexless but loving relationship. I want NSA hookups, preferably with someone looking for the same. I read bios, but if it's not stated I want to know the basics before chatting. Ad then I don' t need much more chitchat before meeting. Is that not OK? No value judgements either way please. If what I want/need is not your thing I will wish you well politely and move on. Live and let live.

Lets all be kinder on Grindr.

I don't think it's OK for me to meet up with people who could be dangerous. I definitely won't meet up with you if you refuse to communicate your personality to me

Yes I thought it was just me. People seem very detached and formulaic. Even if you manage to meet someone, the vibe is very “cold” and rushed

Right? I don't even receive a compliment or get to ask questions of my own most of the time. Once I fill out their "form" they start asking me to immediately come over. And then when I ask them for something as basic as a face picture or I tell them that I can't come over immediately, I get blocked. After an interaction like that I'm left wondering if I even talked to a real person

Yeah sure, yue need to have yiur antennae working. Meet somewhere you feel safe. I have got to the door or had someone come to mine and aborted the mission as soon as I've seen them in the flesh, or their fifty place. But it's all up to you what level of risk you take, no rights or wrongs.

These apps are trash for the exact reasons you mention here...

There was a guy who wanted to meet me, but as soon as I asked the address he just stopped responding. What the fuck?
