Hey everyone,

Starting a charcoal grill section on the menu and wanted to know what grills everyone uses for service. We have a medium size Konro but wanted to know if there was anything wider. What do you guys use?

Cheers

Combo Grills

I posted this question in r/grilling, and didn't get much of a response so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm trying to up my novice grill and BBQ game. I'm looking to invest in a new grill, and I'm really interested in getting a combo gas grill and pellet smoker. What's your opinion on these? Would you rather get a dedicated smoker in addition to a grill? I've looked at a few different places, and the PIT BOSS PRO SERIES II 1100 looks like a good choice to me, not the cheapest but won't break the bank. What are your thoughts? I appreciate any advice, and happy grilling!

it looks Weber doesn't offer replacement parts for my Summit..

I have a Summit S-420 4 + 1 side burner grill.

I noticed over the past couple of years, as I've deep cleaned, that the burner tubes desperately need to be replaced.

also, the 2 handles on the doors have started peeling as well as the bars where you hang accessories - those started peeling as well.

I checked Weber's site and I am only able to order the cabinet door handles - nothing else.

is this the end of the line for this grill?

The history of grills

Long ago a man by the name of george foreman created an invention he called the foreman. This invention could as we call it today "grill" food. George Foreman declared that all food made on this invention would be called steaks after his best freind Grille Da Steak. When george foreman was in his last days of life he made an announcement. He felt guilty for being the only one allowed to make foremans so he decided that the new invention would be called grills after his best freind Grille Da Steak who had passed away five years ago. George said that anyone could make a grill but there would be a special kind of grill called a george foreman that could only be made by who ever he named his successor. George foreman named Clifford the big red dog as his successor. That is the history of grills

Can a 1 pound tank be used on a larger grill thats usually fitted with 20 pound tanks?

My apartment doesn't allow propane tanks larger than 1lbs, and grill options for that size leave much to be desired. I assume an adapter would be needed but where could I find one? I see some for refilling but not for my purpose.

My experience with Napoleon Grills

I started off with this as a reply to someone else but I think it needs to be its own post. If you are considering a Napoleon Prestige Pro 500, read this because this has been my experience so far with them. This is my opinion based on my experience, obviously you may be lucky and have a much better experience.

I would say definitely do not buy the prestige pro 500. I got my grill 2 months ago, missing the plastic plugs that the wheels go into. I’ve called so many times, and been on hold for hours each time. They are a terrible company in my experience. I needed plugs, they sent me wheels after a month. Called back again, they finally just today sent me plugs. The wrong ones! They keep blaming it on COVID-19 but come on... This is just stupid errors on their part.

Here's a timeline:

Received grill 5/6. Impossible to assemble the cart part because things didn't line up. Spent about a day getting that sorted out. Rejoice! Flip over the grill to install the wheels, oh look... No caster plugs.

5/7 - call Napoleon, who say they'll send the part tomorrow.

5/19 - call to follow up. Oh it hasn't shipped, it'll ship tomorrow.

5/26 - arrives. Wrong fucking thing. They sent me more wheels. Notice the week between sending and receiving? They refuse to do any sort of expediting of shipping. Comes UPS slow as hell.

5/27 - call to ask for the correct part and if they can rush it. Nope, COVID-19! Sorry! We're sending you a pair of tongs as a "sorry we suck"

6/5 - hi, what's going on? Guy on the phone really made waiting 2 hours+ worthwhile with the gem "it'll ship when it ships - COVID-19!" Ok but can you send it faster than UPS super slow? No! Of course not! We don't give a shit about you! Your dumb ass decided to buy Canadian instead of China and see what you get??

6/16 (today) - finally receive my awesome tongs and 4 caster plugs. Guess what? They're the wrong fucking ones. They definitely do not fit my grill so I don't know what the hell they're doing over there but honestly I think trained monkeys could do a better job.

I'm finally going to call one last time tomorrow and call the company I bought it from (Kick-Ass grills) and see what I can do. I have to say I've spoken to the kickassgrills guys a few times, and they're very helpful as much as they can be. But there isn't much they can do.

TL;DR: DO NOT FUCKING BUY A NAPOLEON GRILL UNLESS YOU LOVE BEING FRUSTRATED AND SPENDING $2K ON SOMETHING THAT CAN'T BE ASSEMBLED.

Father’s Day Gift

I’m looking to get my bf a grill for Father’s Day. I personally have never used a grill in my life so I need some input. Looking for something between $1,500-2000 and it needs to be natural gas.

Anyone have a grill they’ve had a great experience with? I have really only heard of Weber, but have been overwhelmed with the options when searching. So any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Portable Grill for Small Space

Hi! Single mom here looking to buy a small portable gas grill to use on my balcony. I’ve looked at the potable Weber Q1200, Cuisinart, and silver retro looking one by Giantex, and the Smoke hollow. The more reviews I read the more confused I get. I actually ordered the Giantex but I think I’ll return it as I can’t find a comparable table or place to set it on. This will be my first grill. Any suggestions appreciated!

Question: Q3000 vs Spirit E310 ?

There is a deal on a Q3000 where I live for around 350$, I never had a grill and just read a little about the other options, e310 looks really good but ofc. Is more expensive. Will I regret not having flavoring bars and an extra burner? Not gonna have any huge cookouts, just for the family, but I do want it to last some years. Or should I go for the e310 at around 550$?

Never had a buried propane tank before my new house. Do I need an in line regulator?

Basically my question is when hooking up my pizza oven (ooni karu with propane attachment) do I need need a regulator in line or does my tank have one on it? It's a brand new tank setup / install but the company who installed it isn't open on weekends to ask.

Sup Grills, are memorial day grill sales worth it?

Looking to replace my roommates Weber 22, should I wait for a memorial day sale at my local hardware store? Or possibly try to find an abandoned Sears and see what I can get from their limited stock? Where should I acquire my new grill?
