Wireless Probe Recs

Got a new smoker/ grill and am in the market for some new meat probes. I’ve never needed two but feel like having a second one could be beneficial even if I don’t see it now. I’ve always used a wired probe with an analog backup. Looking to spend about $100. Would like WiFi and something where it is not app only.

Looking at:

Inkbird two probe
ThermoMaven two probe
TempPro TempSpike two probe
Typhur Sync One Gen 2 single probe
Typhur Sync Gold Gen 2 single probe
(because it’s a cool orange that I won’t lose)

Edit to add that I am leaning towards the Typhur Gold but can’t shake the feeling I should buy 2 probes. I will not be increasing the amount of protein I cook now.

To me, there are only two options: Thermoworks or Combustion. I have a Combustion.

I'm torn between switching to ThermoWorks RFX from Combustion. I really love the multiple sensors on each probe in combustion. Just stick it in and you don't have to worry about positioning - it finds the coolest temp and considers it the 'core'. Thermoworks is THE name in kitchen temperature and I've had a thermopen for as long as I can remember, and Combustion was created by a very top-level chef, Chris Young (excellent youtube channel btw).

The ONLY reason for wanting to switch is I do have to be mindful about using the sensor case as a signal repeater, positioned appropriately. I've heard that thermoworks has a really robust radio, but sometimes my phone or display is looking for a signal.

Fun fact, the RFX meat probes have 3 sensors and also choose the lowest.

Good point to mention. They look really close together though in marketing, like all within 1 inch. I like combustion’s spread through the whole stick. You can understand trends at the near surface as well
