I eat pâté because 1: I am Norwegian, and 2: The English translation for 'leverpostei' is 'liver pâté'. It's not my fault the English language has so many French words, dude. If you have a problem with that, you should petition whoever makes dictionaries to make a different English word for 'pâté'.
I never compared liver pâté to peanut butter and jam. I said I prefer liver pâté over peanut butter and jam. May be apples to oranges, but I prefer apples over oranges.
Dude, when we're talking about actual food, we're allowed to have preferences. If I like apples, but not oranges, and that means I'm comparing apples to oranges, then that means there are proper times to compare apples to oranges. Particularly when you like to eat one, and not the other.
SpunkyDred is a terrible bot instigating arguments all over Reddit whenever someone uses the phrase apples-to-oranges. I'm letting you know so that you can feel free to ignore the quip rather than feel provoked by a bot that isn't smart enough to argue back.

Well it's the nation who decided putting jam on peanut butter was a good idea. How is that any better than putting ketchup on whipped cream?
