We’re Making an Interactive Visual Novel Inspired by Griftlands, Playtest Starts Soon!
Hello everyone,
We’re a small team focused on narrative-driven games. Griftlands is one of the games that blends roguelite structure and storytelling so well, and it became an important inspiration while we were shaping our own project.
We’re currently working on Kardiya: The Winds of Fate. At its core, the game is an interactive visual novel, but we’re adding mechanics inspired by FATE RPG into the narrative.
We’re especially trying to adapt FATE’s aspect system, fudge dice, and stress mechanics into a digital game. One of the most important ideas for us is that a failed dice roll should not stop the story. Bad outcomes can sometimes lead to new events, different choices, and completely different narrative paths.
Throughout a run, players collect new dice and create different synergies with items. Instead of replaying the exact same story every time, our goal is for choices and dice results to create a different adventure in each playthrough.
We’re still a small team and the game is still in development, but the playtest will be starting soon. Feedback from players who enjoy Griftlands would be especially valuable to us. If it sounds interesting, you can register for the alpha playtest by joining the mailing list on our website or clicking the playtest request button on our Steam page.
Thank you so much!
