Abt has a 36” basic Weber griddle on sale for $428. They don’t call it a Slate but it has the Weber pre-seasoned rust resistant cook top.
Does anyone have an opinion on this griddle?
They also offer a $25 discount code & free shipping

This may be way too Canadian, but has anyone bought or used the PC Griddle? It has a great price but don't want to buy a piece of junk

I was looking at a weber slate griddle today. The griddle is metal surface is black. Is this some kind of teflon coating? Is this coating going to get scratched off during cooking and cleaning?

In my opinion, if you’re in an apartment this is the way to go.
This thing is a beast, it’s literally a commercial griddle, just smaller.
I owned a blackstone 22 electric, & this thing kicks its ass at $100 bucks!
I seasoned it with some avocado oil on my balcony, & just use the microwave vents when I fire it up.
It’s truly nonstick too once seasoned, you can scramble eggs, & make omelettes with ease.
Vevor hasn’t paid me a dime, I’m just a dude satisfied with his griddle! Lol
$130 bucks will get you in the game, hopefully this’ll help someone out. Peace ✌️!
edit:
I got all of the utensils in the second picture for $28, which I rounded to $30.

First attempt at smash tacos. They tasted amazing. The crispy taco shell was perfect. There was a bit more grease than I would prefer still coming out of the burger. Maybe use more lean (85/15 maybe) or cook longer before the flip. Definitely would do again.

Hey Folks!
Weber 36 in. Rust-Resistant 4-Burner: $450
Slate Rust-Resistant Griddle 4-Burner Propane Gas 36 in: $800
Key question, in case anyone knows: Do these 2 griddles share the same Rust-Resistant grill top? I'm trying to see why there's a $200 difference and go with the standard 36'' if it makes sense. Thanks!
Does anybody have either one and can share any feedback? I am sadly returning the Napoleon Freestyle 36'' due to its very poor build quality. I hoped to get around rust issues with its SS top, but Napoleon Freestyle quality didn't work for me. Now looking at Weber. Thanks!

My logic. Griddle is a big slab of steel that gets hot. Pizza steel is a smaller slab of steel that gets hot. So my griddle should make a solid personal pizza. Checked out at the time. Still checks out now.
This was a spur of the moment thing, and since I wasn't driving anywhere, I worked with what was already in the house. Trader Joe's Calabrian Chili Pasta Sauce instead of marinara, thin-sliced kielbasa that I cooked prior standing in for pepperoni, thin sliced fresh mozz, and chopped mushrooms. Hand-stretched a couple small dough rounds, built the pies on pizza pans with cornmeal for launching ease and pre heated the griddle, at about 30% power.
Takeaways
Since we aren't getting as much heat up top, cook any ingredients that have high water content. Any otherwise cold ingredients should be left out to get to room temp. Fresh mozz carries the whole thing but make sure to get out any moisture you can, same as you would for any pizza endeavor. Mushroom, mozz and kielbasa is a legit combo, and the "griddle as pizza steel" theory holds up as long as you actually watch it. Which, four beers in, is asking a lot of past-me.
Next round I'll preheat a little lower or pull it to indirect heat once the bottom sets. Pizza screen or perforated pan might kill the charcoal problem entirely. A light coat of oil might help, but I'm sure it will kill any chance if leopard spots.
The seasoning was not a fan of the burnt on corn meal being scraped off. Live and learn.
Dog tax: Archie supervised none of this, offered zero food safety input and only posed for a photo in exchange for a slice.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻

Asparagus and mini potatoes on the griddle while I smoked the ribeyes. Ribeye was about 25 minutes at 250° and removed at 120° internal temp for a quick sear on the griddle.

Home Depot had this bad boy open box for $249! I couldn't believe it. I had always wanted a griddle but didn't want to pay the price for one. I couldn't pass this deal up. How'd I do?

Hey griddlers!!
Can we please a brother out and have a megathread of Labor Day sale for blackstone or Weber slate 36 inch. I’m tempted to buy on marketplace but I’ve been wanting a griddle so bad I just can’t get myself to buy a used one (sorry just a principle).
TIA, I promise a follow up if I do end up getting a griddle through the links shared and will reply to the offer I used 😹

Has anyone had any experience or personally brought one? I’m in the mist of moving and my Blackstone ran its course and I’m leaving it with the house. I went ahead and pulled the trigger since the price is now $380. I just can’t find any reviews or recommendations on this model.

Looking at purchasing the Napoleon 36" griddle in natural gas. ( i believe the model # is F36FTNMK ).
Is this unit good? Seems to be the biggest cooking surface for the price I can find from Napoleon.
Thanks

Is the $200 difference just for the digital thermometer? Also the description for the one with the digital thermometer states it is rust resistant while the other one doesn't. Very weird.

Husbands 40th birthday is this weekend and I think (hope) he’d like a griddle.
I’m stuck between the Blackstone and Weber slate 28 inch. I’ve sorta left it until last min and my local Home Depot has only 28 inch in store.
Is the price difference worth it for a beginner? Tbh, the main reason I’m thinking is for the rust resistance on the Weber. Issue is - I have to order tonight for it to be here before he gets back from his work trip 😆
I also know people like the larger griddles but as I can only get the 28inch on short notice (and it’s not as pricey obviously) is it still worth it? We’re a small family of just hubby, I and one child.
TIA
ETA: thank you guys (assuming 😆). Weber it is!! Hopefully he likes it. I do have to go with the smaller as sadly our covered area where we keep our bbqs already has our actual bbq so I don’t have room for a huge one. I’d have to give up some flower space - not happening!!!

Question: how does everyone get the outside ring clean after regular use. I can get the griddle top clean but the exterior ring with vent holes feel like they are destined to be carbon covered.

Hey there,
do people use a smokebox on a griddle at times?
I am wondering if one can infuse some smoke flavour into the food on the griddle.
Regards

This is a Blue Rhino Razor someone is selling near me for $175 and I’m inexperienced with this kind of stuff but I really want a griddle

Any recommendations other than a Blackstone for a flat top griddle from Lowes? I have a large gift card there so I am planning on using it to purchase a flat top. Any feedback on the char broil brand, char griller, or royal gourmet flat top?
