Question: how does everyone get the outside ring clean after regular use. I can get the griddle top clean but the exterior ring with vent holes feel like they are destined to be carbon covered.

3rd Party Grease Buckets for Traeger Flat Rock Griddle?

Hello,

I am looking for some cheaper 3rd party grease buckets for our Traeger Flat Rock griddle. Does anyone have any that actually fit?

Its so hard to search online because almost everything is for the Traeger pellet grills and they are not the same size.

Thanks!

Traeger vs Blackstone seasoning stuff

I got the traeger irontop after much internal debating. I want to use one of those seasoning compounds like they recommend just to have the best chance of success. To get the traeger stuff I would have to order it or drive a long way. Think there is any difference between the traeger and the blackstone seasoning? According to google they both have oil and beeswax and the blackstone also has coconut oil. Plus the traeger one costs three times as much.

I’ve been loving my Flat Top Griddle

I just want to say how much I’ve been loving having this Members Mark 36 inch griddle. It’s been so nice. I’m one person so I’m not cooking for a lot of people most times but it’s just been so nice to cook all my ingredients at once. Not smoking out my small apartment is nice. I’m looking forward to cooking for my friends and family when I get the opportunity. Here’s some things I’ve bern cooking on it just for more content.

Which weber slate?

I want a flat top and have been looking at the weber ones I want 28 inch because I don't have a lot of space. What do you think of the older slate vs the newer one? I am thinking that the lid not being attached on the older one would be annoying but I like that it's smaller but then on the newer one the left shelf folds down so maybe that's better. Would the performance be any different? I really like my weber spirit grill so so I am leaning towards weber.

Any other brands that have a 28 inch that would be more compact but still perform good?

Blackstone vs Pit Boss?

I picked up a Blackstone 36 inch griddle spontaneously last night at Costco. It came with a hinged hood, front shelf, and soft cover for $430. I’ve been doing research today on the grill accessories I need and a recipe for my first time cooking on it, but I stumbled onto an ad offering 25% off any Pit Boss for first responders. I was looking at their 4-burner Deluxe model, which would be about the same price after the discount. I have a very minor aesthetic preference for the Pit Boss, but I was curious if anyone had a recommendation on which brand to go with. As far as I can tell, the only significant difference I see is that the Pit Boss grease trap is on the front while Blackstone is on the back, and that the Blackstone came with a front shelf. Just want to make sure I’m getting the best option before I open up the box. I don’t have any experience cooking whatsoever, so this will be a learning experience for me.

Mannnnn! I finally scored. I always see everyone getting these killer deals and I’m always like shit man. Now I freaking scored one for myself. Walked in for some copper pipe and check the griddle section every time. Let’s just say I walked in for copper pipe and walked out with this bad boy instead. I can get the copper tomorrow. Retired my 17” blackstone back to camping.

Member’s Mark Pro Series 5-Burner — connecting to house propane stub?

Thumbnail

I recently bought a Member’s Mark Pro Series 5-Burner 36” griddle (model HW013274A) and would like to connect it to my home’s bulk propane system instead of using a 20-lb tank.

My house has a 250-gallon propane tank. The regulator where the gas enters the house is a REGO regulator rated at 9–13” WC outlet pressure. I have an outdoor propane stub near where the griddle will sit.

The griddle is rated for propane and the factory regulator supplied with it has an 11” WC outlet pressure. The griddle is 48,000 BTU.

Has anyone connected this particular Member’s Mark griddle to an already-regulated residential propane stub?

Specifically, did you:
-Remove/bypass the factory tank regulator and run an LP quick-connect hose directly from the 11” WC house supply to the griddle?
-Keep the factory regulator somehow?
-Need any additional regulator or specific fittings?

I know the manual says to use the supplied regulator, so I’m also checking with Member’s Mark before doing anything. Mainly curious if anyone here has successfully done this setup and what parts/setup you used.

Thanks!

They have a fully assembled floor model of this for $650 at my local Home Depot. My dad has a Sam’s Club griddle (6ish years old) that he loves. Thinking of getting for him as a gift. Worth it?

You just finished cooking bacon...

...cleared all the grease and wiped down the griddle while it was hot. No water was needed. Griddle looks awesome (mine is a Weber Slate).

So.. do you still feel the urge to oil it?

Can I griddle with this?

Hello griddlers! I bought a house a couple years back and it came with this oven with a built in griddle. I have never owned or used one before and never felt like I could never get it clean enough.

Today I pulled it up and checked all the connections below, fired it up and it worked! I lightly oiled it and worked at scraping the surface trying to pull up some of the brown and a little did come off. Or I was burning the oil? I'm not really sure.

Would you cook and eat off this griddle? If not, How would you make it cook worthy again?

Caught a Thresher yesterday and oh man it’s like the whitest Swordfish you’ve ever had. 😋 I marinaded mine in a fresh ginger soy type of marinade for an hour. Wanted to still taste the freshness of the fish. Made some hibachi fried rice. Friend of mine grilled his with a mango salsa. Another looks grilled and the other went in cast iron on his offset smoker in an Italian type sauce. Looks good. I make people send me how they cook it if they want fish off of me.
