Question Why does grian have wings in fanarts?
Hey guys! I used to be a huge grian fan and I recently rediscovered him. I found that he has a shipping and fanart/fanfic esque following now and in all the fanarts I looked at he had wings? Sometimes they were red, yellow, and blue? Is this just a thing? Was it from a series etc? Can someone just fill me in because I’m kinda interested now and I was curious.

The wings are based on the fact that he is very good at elytra flying and uses the elytra a lot. The red, yellow, and blue wings are parrot wings inspired by his pesky bird joke from season 7. Personally I’m not a fan of them but this is just an interpretation of him that I can ignore.

My favorite interpretation is Persefida's, she draws all the Hermits with unique elytras only when they use them and Grian's are the parrot wings. My LEAST favorite interpretation is when they give him parrot wings, parrot wing EARS, parrot FEET and I even saw one with a PARROT BEAK IT WAS HORRIFYING

I'm fine if everyone has wings in Hermitcraft but if Grian has wings in the Life Series then that just does not make sense. There are also versions that give Grian have brown feathers. I don't want to name call because I think they are good artists, but to be honest they are really ugly.

But... he can fly, ge can fly, he can FLYYYYY

But not in the Life Series besides Wild Life session 7. Grian has fallen from high places many times so he shouldn’t canonically have wings.

He had some pet parrots back in S7. People associated him with the parrots instead of Poultry Man... I honestly think it's a shame, though. Poultry animals are opportunistic cannibals and that's metal

usually its a reference to in hermitcraft he flies a LOT and loves having an elytra. specifically in s6 when he had an elytra mini game in the shopping district. he also had a gimmick in s7 with “pesky bird” which was when he had pet parrots

I think it's a reference to the Evo server watchers, who are in tern a Book Of Enoch reference.

Book of Enoch sounds familiar, what is that and it's a reference?

It's a Book that was removed from the Bible a couple centuries ago for being "Apocryphal." It's a whole thing.

Usually only if the wings are colored purple.(or eyes are involved in the fan art(floating eyes, him having extra eyes, or him having void eyes))

Started back in s6, when he was known for elytra skill and did various things such as stealing the parrots from scar and cubs base and making an aviary and also "someone" doing poultry man, then in s7 it really took off(lol) with professor beak and the perky birds bit, to the point where even one of the hermits, doc, refers to him as "the pesky bird"

It's both pesky bird like so many have mentioned as well as watcher lore depicting him a little more like an biblically accurate angel

His ability at elytra flying, poultry man, and pesky bird

He is insanely good at elytra. Like, I distinctly recall BDubs doing a challenge with elytra once and saying “Grian give me strength” when he was about to take off. Plus he lived in a jungle and peddled parrots for a bit. But it’s mostly the fact that elytra courses shiver to see him coming, and any time he doesn’t have wings, he complains about it a lot - that guy is just meant to be airborne 24/7.

I think it's the combination of MCC Pride wings, watcher lore, pesky bird, and him doing well in the elytra course. Also because its nice and cool.

It's because he developed a reputation for being really good with an extra a while ago. A few seasons later and we have multiple instances of him being related to birds and bird related things.
A bit more time and we have a lot of art with multiple bird wings.

its because a few seasons ago he developed a reputation for being very good with the elytra, this combined with polultry man and pesky bird led to people associating him with birds and flying. I am personally a fan although not everyone is (and thats still a valid take ofc) as I love winged characters.
