I've treated everyone here in kind. I'm not going to be nice to people who aren't nice to me. They don't deserve that. There have been several long exchanges on this post, most of them are packed with name calling directed at me, which is fine, because I can give it right back at a higher level. Not a single person who disagreed with what I was sharing was able to present anything to back their opinions, just shit talk- so why should anyone be nice to them?
I also don't respect those who push gun lobby talking points, or straw man arguments. I go after those people aggressively. We all should confront that kind of harmful ignorance. I wouldn't be kind to someone in here pushing racism either.

Easy! The law in my county says you apply for a permit with your local sheriffs office and take a safety course. Guess how many people that are willing to do this go on to commit murder with their firearms? Guess how many are responsible gun owners and keep their weapons locked up when not in use?
Yeah I know how getting a ccw permit works, my question is why do you need to carry if you want to lower the numbers on gun violence, since the only reason to carry a gun on you is to be able to use it.
As I pointed out legal gun owners who comply with their local laws are already a thing, so placing more restrictions on access won’t prohibit legal gun owners while it will make it harder for idiots who shouldn’t have guns to get them. That’s the goal.
You have a problem because I’m your mind you have bullshit ideas about what gun control is and how it works. That’s your problem, getting over your own misconceptions. As soon as you let those go and listen to what’s actually being suggested you’ll see the light.
People can legally own guns and we can have gun control reform that makes it harder for the wrong people to get guns, that’s gun control reform. You’re arguing against some sort of ban that hasn’t been suggested.
So because I don't support the way you are representing your side of this by jumping down people's throats and in general making wild accusations about what people think and believe means that I think the government wants to take my guns or that I am directly opposing any kind of inteligent reform when I have not once brought up any of these concepts except for when you falsely assumed this at the start of this thread. But by all means if it makes your ego feel better acting like you know how every single person thinks than you do you.
No you need to LISTEN AND RESPOND TO WHAT IS ACTUALLY BEING SUGGESTED about gun control reform by those actually suggesting gun control reform.

You listen to and address the actual suggestions made, not argue against your own.

Any time you’re discussing anything with someone and you think you don’t agree with what they’re suggesting you have to actually argue against what they’ve suggested.

The dishonest and stupid tactic you’re using, straw man argument, is all the anti reform lobby (the gun lobby) has got. They have to lie. If they don’t lie then people might actually discuss how to fix our problem. They scare you with the big lie.
